Tryin to kick the habit

(again)

4 long days without a cigarette

First two days were - :banghead:

Yesterday was a little rough but i made it, today aint that bad, i could defintely use one though...someone smoked in front of me last night and it smelled like shit.

f$%k cigarettes. They had such a hold on me. Guess i gotta man up and just beat it, i dont think the \"urge\" is ever gonna just go away...at least not for a long while.

Advice?

 You can do it! I am officially 1 year, 6 months and 13 days smoke free. :D
It feels so good to breath again. The urge does go away. Give it a month or 2. Congrats on four days!!:hyper:

Oh.. advice. Brush your teeth. Often. And chew really minty gum. It makes you feel cleaner, and helps you not want to inhale that nasty shit! I think it took about 2 weeks before the mood swings and \'i need one\' feelings went away.

I have been smoke free since October 1994. It was hard, but it\'s possible. Good luck to you!

 Way to go!

It is a little rough because i\'m 22 years old, been smoking 10 years...so thats almost 1/2 of my natural life...kinda hard to beat it but i think i will this time. I wanna get back into shape and be able to breathe again.

Plus almost 7 dollars a pack, they can go f$%k thierselves.

Congrats Heather! And Lux, good luck to you, congrats on the few days so far.

 Holy Sheet! I swore I\'d quit when they cost $2 a pack. I quit when they were $2.35(ish). I smoked from 13/14-20. It was hard, but I did it. You can do it!

I quit once. For New Years with an ex of mine.

I lasted 7 hours.

Stupid bitch knew how to push my buttons and piss me off.

Yeah.

I hear that, i\'ve tried that before (quittin with someone) this time i\'m doing it for me.

Its the first couple days thats a real bitch, after that, it just gets easier and easier. :crossed:

Brandi and I have tried a few times. She always caves, and it makes it that much harder on me, so I wind up giving in.

Seven bucks a pack. Damn. Bout $4 here.

The wife and I quit in February. She used the perscription Chantix, I used the Commit Lozenges. The Commits worked great for me, and kept me from killing anyone. I haven\'t had a cig since 20 something February, and I haven\'t had a Commit in 6 weeks.

Hang in there. I quit on September 24th of last year. 1-3 packs a day for almost 20 years. Didn\'t use anything - just tossed a half pack in the trash that morning and haven\'t smoked since. My wife did it 3 days after I did. It\'s not easy - ya gotta want to quit or no drug or gum will help ya. About two weeks or so into it I thought I was gonna bounce off the walls or go nuts (or both) but I hung in there and didn\'t kill anyone lol.

Congrats and hang in there guys.

Good luck!

I smoked for 10 years 2 packs a day. I havent smoked in roughly a year and a half now.

As silly as it sounds I tried to quit many times with no luck (patch, cold turkey). Not until I read this book was it easy for me to quit smoking http://www.theeasywaytostopsmoking.com/TestPage/tabid/125/Default.aspx This really seemed to put things in perspective for me, and made my cravings seem \"different\" and much less nerve racking.
