FOR SALE: 1979 Lincoln Continental Town Car 4-door hardtop. Cream exterior, camel top, camel velour interior. 11,284 miles. One non-smoking owner from 1979-2013: Ziebart rust-proofed when new and kept in climate controlled storage its entire life. This car is a time-warp: everything on this car is original except the battery. Options include vinyl roof, pinstripes, cloth seats (leather delete), opera window, illuminated entry, headlamp convenience group, rear window defrost, tilt steering wheel, cruise control, AM/FM/8-track/CB radio, delay wipers, Town Car package, right side remote mirror, outside thermometer, interior light group. The original window sticker MSRP was $15,669.
The body is totally rust-free, all trim in excellent condition and the interior is immaculate. The paint is very nice with only minor blemishes (3 door dings, the front bumper filler needs to be repainted). It drives very nice and everything on the car works as it should except the air conditioning, which blows warm (needs refrigerant). It is truly like a 1 year-old vehicle. I have all documentation, manuals and maintenance history since new.
When the original owner became unable to drive, this car was placed on display on the showroom of her business and not driven from 2001-2013. In the spring 2013 it received fresh fluids, fuel system overhaul (fuel tank flush, new rubber hoses, new fuel filter, new fuel pump) and carburetor rebuild to get it back roadworthy. I purchased it from the heir of the original owner in May 2013: my family has enjoyed it all summer but now it is time for it to find a new home.
This is an investment-grade vehicle for the collector who prizes originality. It is fairly priced at $8000. Located in Clarkston, Michigan (30 miles north of Detroit). Please contact Ed at 248-766-6584 between 9am-9pm EST for more information or to set up a time to view the vehicle.
