Lincoln buyback program tips and answers

So, I got all my questions answered although it took some back and forth between me, the buy back representative and my dealer. My dealer told me they had never heard of anyone receiving a buy back offer on a 2 year old vehicle, but I did. I had my dealer review the buy back offer to make certain I wasn't dreaming. He agreed it was very generous.

I decided to place an order for a 2024 Nautilus. Between my dealer and the buy back representative, my buy back has been placed on hold. It will be reviewed closer to the time my Nautilus being delivered. This will probably be around 6 months from now.

Hi RH. Just one recommendation: If you have not already done so, be sure to get everything in writing, including the fact that Lincoln/the Dealership have agreed to the fact that your "...buy back has been placed on hold." and "...will be reviewed closer to the time my Nautilus being delivered."

It would be very frustrating (to say the least) to suddenly have them say your car no longer qualifies for a buyback 6 months from now, due to various possible reasons. For example...what if the Lincoln reps you are working with are no longer with the company in 6+ months.
Or...someone at Lincoln "reviews" your case, and decides your 2+ year old vehicle should never have qualified for a buyback, or no longer qualifies due to it being 6 months older.

If everything is valid and all of the intentions are good, they should have no problem verifying it in writing for you now. It protects all parties.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do and keep us updated. 🍻

Hi bbf2530. Great advice as always. I have it confirmed in an email.

I have been told the new vehicle could take up to 6 months to arrive so I am also enquiring how far in advance I should restart the process.

I'm currently in the beginning of my buy back/replacement process. I have submitted all the documentation they requested for the purchase of the vehicle. My understanding is I will be offered a complete buy back like you received or a special deal on a replacement Lincoln. My father was a Ford employee so I received his discount, which is significant, when I purchased my Corsair. There was also very low interest rates on financing. According to the agent I have been working with, I will receive the discount and the low interest rate if I choose to do the replacement. I'll keep you posted as my process progresses.
Any update, I'm curious how the rest of your process went with timeline and offer. I am in the buyback process with my 2022 Aviator GT.

I definitely have everything in writing.

Now, if my Nautilus would just get put on a boat and RORO across the ocean that would be great.

I'd search high and low for the vehicle used, if possible, CPO. Sometimes its better than ordering. Also, out of state vehicles help increase the findings.

I received my buy back offer from Lincoln. It was quite generous especially considering my vehicle is nearly 3 years old. I accepted the offer and am now waiting on notification of the appointment to surrender the vehicle. The timing is excellent as my Nautilus should arrive at my dealership today.

How long did the process take?
Less than 2 weeks.
