My Lincoln
2023 Aviator Black Label
I have a 2023 Black Label Lincoln Aviator. When I am sitting in my car, with the car on, and I press the lift gate open button, the lift gate does not lower for easy access like it does when my vehicle is off and I approach the vehicle or open the liftgate with the key fob or button on the lift gate. Is this normal? Does my car have to be off in order for it to lower? Or will it only lower with use of my key fob and the button on the lift gate?

Welcome to the Forum. 👋
I think you meant to say that the vehicle will not lower. The liftgate itself does not move.
I don't have that feature on mine so I'm not very familiar with the operation but it seems to me that the Owner's Manual does explain it.
If not, hopefully another member will be able to assist.

I have the same vehicle and the part of Easy Access (lowering the vehicle) only works with the engine off. When the vehicle is running, the height will be determined by the drive modes (excite = lower height, deep snow & ice = high height, and the rest would be normal height).
Of course when you initially start the vehicle, the mode always defaults to normal height.
