My Lincoln
2007 mkx
Hello new to this site not new to Lincoln!
I need help with stop lamps on my MKX. They are not working. Checked fuse, replaced some of the bulbs .. checked the brake switch. How does one replace the lights along the tailgate ? Is that something I have to bring in and pay and arm and a leg for ?? Please help! Point me in the right direction ! Thanks !

This should help:
(the right and left rear lights)
(the high mount third light)

Yes thank you so much I have already done this. It may be and LED module? But I believe the problem lies in the lights that go across the lift gate ? Do u know anything about that?

You mean this piece?

I haven't noticed anything for remove/replace on that item, but odds are good it'll be in the workshop manual. You might want to get one from factorymanuals or a similar place; the one I have for the '24 Nautilus looks to be the real thing, very comprehensive though a huge PDF (I chopped mine into smaller, more useable, files).

No. That is a decorative running light. Only on when the headlights are on. Its essentially a fancy tail light. Only 1 brightness. Not designed for use as a brake light, and not usually on during the daytime unless you have your headlights manually set to on during daylight hours for some reason other than troubleshooting.
