Deep sleep mode

My 2024 Nautilus goes into battery saver deep sleep mode every day. I can drive 100 miles and within an hour it is in deep sleep mode to preserve battery. Dealer has tested battery three times and always tests good. Everything has to reboot. Screens, radio, etc. Very annoying. About to trade the thing for a BMW. Anyone else experienced this? Been going on almost a year and seems to be getting worse. Can drive 50 miles and instantly get message on app that it is in deep sleep mode. Would appreciate any input. Thanks!

Hi ebybob and welcome to the Lincoln Forums. If the battery is good, then there is another issue, and your Lincoln Dealership needs to properly diagnose and correct it. Not just tell you “The battery is good”.

Try another Dealership, even if it is a Ford Dealership, and have the battery tested again. Also call Lincoln Concierge, explain the situation, and ask them for assistance. In fact, call them first and see what they advise.

You can also have the battery tested at your local big box auto stores (AutoZone etc.) as it is usually a free service there. If the battery is eliminated as a problem, then something else is wrong.

Has the dealer ever replaced the battery?
Do you store the key fob inside the car? Or is the fob stored with 20 feet of the car (even thru walls)?

My 24 would occasionally deep sleep. My dealer eventually replaced the battery after it failed one night while on their lot.

I keep my fobs inside a Faraday box, because from where I store them the car and fobs kept talking to each other. All night long. The car would eventually go into sleep.

Sounds to me like the dealership is being lazy. They need to attempt to replace the battery at the very least. Im an Advisor at a Ford Dealership and Ive seen batteries test good, but issues like the above continue to happen and upon replacing the battery the issues resolve itself. Make sure when they replace the battery that they reset the BMS. It is an important step, as the vehicle keeps up with the degredation of the battery and if its not reset it wont charge the new battery properly.

Also another thing to note here: We've had brand new vehicles with less than 10 miles on them have faulty batteries right out of the factory. Sometimes the battery manufacturer sends a bad batch. No recall on it since its not every single one, and its a consumable item and non safety related.

And another: the 2024 Nautilus has had a history of vampire draw that was supposed to be fixed with OTA updates. Please make sure your vehicle is connected to Wi-Fi at home so it can download and install OTA updates. If your vehicle keeps having errors installing them, you can also drop by your local Ford or Lincoln Dealer to have them installed free of charge.

Your first issue is likely your dealer but not clear what else the dealer has done. Your dealer should be doing more such as doing a battery drain test. If in a rare case if the vehicle is giving false sleep, the dealer should be looking for reasons why. It is very likely you have down level software.

I believe the Lincoln Concierge could assist since if a software issue they can help. We have seen reports that excessive uncleared DTCs (trouble codes) can affect operation.

After the version 11 update mine started doing this too. Dealer reinstalled all the recent body module updates fixed it. Also fixed a few other minor issues including a car play audio glitch that would add a bass boost and increase volume after a system prompt. Drivers seat easy entry position works properly with PAK enabled and HVAC settings stay after restart.

As a former development project manager and later a test lead, if you have a vehicle like the Nautilus that has over 40 modules with flashable modules, it would be test challenge given the combinations and flash order let alone rechecking all functions. In my case, after update 11 my passenger door occasionally would not fold. It seems to exposed an issue and there was new door module software that fixed it. When you have poorly architected or written code, it ends an effort to "test" in quality. The team may be coding delays, etc to resolve asynchronous timing issues. But AI will fix all that!

@Jacyte I also have the increased volume issue after system prompts. I am up to date on all SW. any suggestion on what to ask the dealer to do.

Ill get the shop report and see exactly what they updated. My car was also up to date but they said when they looked up software versions using the FDRS tool it showed multiple modules were not reporting the latest versions. I was told the tech updated everything he could.

Hi Jacyte. Sorry to jump in, and I apologize in advance if I am misreading the invoice. Reading the invoice, were you charged a $189 “diagnostic fee” for this work on a 2024 vehicle still within the 4 year/50,000 mile Bew Vehicke Warranty?

If yes, did they explain why? There is nothing there which seems to not be covered under warranty. Including diagnostics.

The major exception would be if an issue was discovered which was caused by owner damage/negligence/misuse etc. Accidental or otherwise. Or some other non-warranty covered event. However, nothing here would seem to fit that description.

No they always add service fees then zero them out as "warranty work". I guess its how they were trained to enter work in their shop. I have seen it done without the service fee but this dealership seems to always do that and remove it in the end summery. It might just be a standard note tied to a drop down job description.
