My Lincoln
2024 Nautilus
I'm a week into my ownership of a 2024 Nautilus. I've had multiple issues so far. Some I may have corrected with new/different settings. However I was driving yesterday with the adaptive cruise control engaged 60mph and was behind a slower car. Things were working as they should until the car in front cleared out of the way. When the cruise control started to resume it raced past the 60mph all the way to 67mph before I stopped it. It did this again a while later on following another vehicle. It just kept increasing until I either tapped the brakes or used the setting controls to correct it.
Has anyone had an issue like this?
Thanks, DonL

What was the speed limit in that location? Adaptive cruise control has an optional capability to adjust your speed based on what it sees on the speed limit signs. If the speed limit was 70, it will automatically go up to 70. You can disable this in the settings if you don’t like it.

The first was 65mph posted. The second was 60mph posted. In both cases setting numbers on the dash raced past what I had manually set it at and past the posted speed limits.
It was a bit scarry. I did look up a video about how to disable. When I went to check it, it was already in the disable mode. I switched on & off a couple times. I left it in the off mode as it was before. I'm going to drive some more to try and recreate the scenario to see if it acts up again.
Thanks for the reply! DonL

Did you check your speed preferences? I had a similar experience. I had set my preference to 8 miles over the posted limit shortly after I got the car. The dealer had set it to 7 MPH over posted, (or it came that way from the factory, I am not sure). The extra speed is fine when I am on an interstate but I learned quickly it wasn't so good when I was in a slower zone like 40 MPH. I do occasionally use cruise to maintain a lower speed in areas where the police are diligent for whatever reason at that time.

I got the following from an AI search for a 2024 Lincoln Nautilus Hybrid:

To set your 2024 Lincoln Nautilus cruise control to a speed over the posted limit, you need to adjust the "Tolerance" setting within the Speed Sign Recognition feature.
Here is the step-by-step guide to change the setting:
  1. On your vehicle's SYNC touchscreen, tap Settings.
  2. Select Driver Assistance.
  3. Choose Cruise Control.
  4. Select Intelligent.
  5. Tap Tolerance.
  6. Use the + and - signs to set the desired tolerance above or below the detected speed limit.
After setting the tolerance, the Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control will automatically adjust your speed based on recognized speed limit signs, factoring in the offset you've specified. You can also disable the Speed Sign Recognition feature entirely if you do not want the system to automatically adjust your speed.

I did try the settings.
The only setting after cruise control is predictive speed assist and it is turned off I do not have the select intelligence or tap tolerance selections on my car
Still doing testing to see if it happens again.
