My Lincoln
Now: 2016 MKX Reserve: | Delivered (refused): 2022 Lincoln Corsair GT | Ordered: 2023 Lincoln Corsair GT
Well, saying Goodbye to this Forum. I appreciate all the good insight and info sharing the last few years. I must say I always liked my Lincolns (had about 6 now, along with about 7 Fords) but the level of satisfaction with my fully loaded '23 Corsair GT was terrible. Great car from a mileage standpoint (the electrification part was fantastic), the ride was comfortable, the seats couldn't be beat (had the upgraded 30-way with heat/ventilated/massage) and it was a good looker.
Unfortunately with only 20k on the odometer it rattled like a Sherman tank from day 1. After two years of being told "they all do that", I even went to another dealer and was told "impossible to correct, that's the way they're built now, all plastic". The Fit & Finish was atrocious. I had doors that wouldn't close properly, doors that touched the B pillar and scraped off the paint, trim that was severely misaligned and fell off. Lincoln had to send it to a body shop to correct all those issues and paint. The straw that broke the camels back was when I went for a faulty part replacement (simple door seal that shredded) that was on backorder since December only to be told "they sent the wrong part", the numbers match but they put the wrong part in the box". Even showed me the box and stocking error. Then received a bill for $150 for oil change and tire rotation. LOF went from $79 to $115 to $150. Just NUTS.
So, for my sanity I traded it in for a '25 Audi Q6 (naturally taking a big financial hit on only being two years old). Hopefully the Germans still know how to build a decent car these days. We'll see.
I also hope someone at Ford/Lincoln reads this Forum......get your act together Ford/Lincoln or buying American will definitely be a thing of the past. I for one was always "Buy American" but going another route this time and see what I was missing.....maybe.
Anyway, good luck everyone........happy motoring!

Auf Wiedersehen (until we meet again or goodbye)

P.S. Still own Ford stock even though that took a hit too. I'll be watching for a comeback, hopefully!

Good luck with your Audi! I am seriously wondering if there are any well built, quality vehicles in the world anymore… If nothing else, whenever vehicles break down today, you always have a black screen to look at.

I sold my wife’s 2020 Lincoln Corsair standard yesterday. It was actually a really good, smooth riding car that never really gave us any problems. It started out as my car, but I couldn’t deal with the seats being so uncomfortable. My wife didn’t mind them so she took the car.It had 58,000 miles on it.

We traded it in for a Honda CRV Hybrid for her to drive. The day after I traded it in, I heard about the coming 1.4 million engine Honda probe announced by NHTSA. 😂

True, they are all too complex now so issues are inevitable. What ever happened to the days when power windows and A/C was an upgrade???? 😉

I'm almost right there, too. Love the look, ride, and power of my Navigator. Hate the rattles and the ongoing software issues from 2020 to now my 2022 and lack of ever upgrading Blue Cruise from version 1.0. Things like that.

Looking at the Mercedes GLS 450 and probably some others. May be moving on from Lincoln as well. Oh, also, the fact that the 2025 Nav is naturally more costly yet features from the 2022 such as park assist and hands free tailgate have been deleted. And the large scree IMO is underwhelming.

What a Shame. Always loved Fords, loved Lincolns (probably still do in fact). My hope is they have a future vehicle that works for me. Not bashing them, just currently frustrated with support after the sale.

Maybe you can back and tell us later if you have the same issues with Audi. Hope not.

The OP's story is definitely why I never would have brought my Corsair new. When it comes right down to it the Corsair is a low end Ford SUV with lipstick

The MKX/Nautilus is an Edge (prior to 2024); Aviator is an Explorer; and Navigator is an Expedition.
I’ve had the opportunity to compare my MKX with a rented Edge. There is a difference, more than lipstick.
Also, Escalade is a Tahoe, Lexus is a Toyota, Acura is a Honda, Infinity is a Nissan.

You should read up on the Ford Pinto.

Also, guess you are not aware that there are several Corsair trim levels.

I assure you that my GT III has much more than lipstick. And even if you must be insulting and call it lipstick, at least in 2023 I'm pretty sure that some of the lipstick was not available on the Ford models.

@LinkedMe, it would be interesting to have you come back on this thread and tell us your customer experience with Audi compared to Lincoln after you have some time to evaluate.

I will do that. As I tried to convey before, Lincoln is (was) near and dear to my heart. Unfortunately they didn't value my repeat business and brand loyalty. I don't think it was a dealer issue but rather a systemic problem thought the organization. Win me back Ford/Lincoln........I wanna be in love again! 😍

I have told the story over the last few years of the lack of follow up I had on my 2020 Navigator ongoing issues. I kept getting dealership emails to leave a review. So, I did. Scathing yet professional.

Couple months or so later out of the blue, new dealership service manager calls to try to win me back. He did. Thanks to him, I stuck with Lincoln.

Really thinking of moving on right now though.

I guess it's the "luck of the draw." I am on my 5th Lincoln. I have made it a point to only buy models 2 or 3 years old and CPO. My thinking is these cars have been "broken in" and all the minor things have been corrected, besides saving some money. It work for me! Also, I have been fortunate enough to have a great service department.

Interesting coincidence. Wednesday I traded my 2025 Honda CRV EX-L for a new Corsair Reserve. I also had a 2020 Corsair, but I had none of the rattles you experienced. In fact, I missed so many of the things it had, that the Honda lacked, especially the exterior keypad. I, too owned three other Lincolns, and four Fords, all of which had the keypads.

I do think I got a Late Friday/Monday Morning build when either the assemblers were anxious to leave or recuperating from a hard weekend. I originally had a 2022 on order but that was during the infamous "chip shortage" so by the time it came in the 2023's were out and waiting a few months secured me the '23 Model. Between Covid issues and then the "chip shortage" backlog I wonder if it lead to rush assembly and shoddy workmanship. Hopefully today's builds are on target. I love my new Audi but hopefully Ford/Lincoln can win my heart back....some day!
Good Luck on your new wheels, Safe Driving!

I have a 2017 MKC and a 2024 Nautilus and both have been great so far. I did drive a Ford Escape which is what the MKC and Corsair are based on when I was on vacation as a rental. Yes it is a much nicer interior, but also the ride quality, quietness and seat comfort are superior in the MKC. It is not just cosmetics.

Glad your Lincolns are a nice ride for you. I've had good luck with all the Lincoln's I've owned except for the last one, the '23 Corsair GT. Guess it was just a bad one of the batch.

So why leave Lincoln over a single bad apple? It doesn't make sense to me, expecting perfection in every single product, and enjoying them for years and years, then one bad experience on the entry level vehicle, one time.....yup, Im leaving. If thats your mentality, you really have no loyalty. Because every single manufacturer is going to have fit and finish issues, even a Rolls Royce.

I don't understand "loyalty" to a car brand. Just what do they ever do to earn it? All they do is let you buy a car from them and really they didn't even do that, the dealer did. Now I can see some loyalty to a dealer, which can be wiped out without much effort. In my life I have owned a Ford, Dodge, Chevy, Buick, Pontiac, Acura, Toyota, Lexus and now a Lincoln. I can not think of anything the manufacturer or even the dealers even did to earn my loyalty as they sure showed no loyalty to me.

Best of luck to you, I hope the Audi is better. I am close to the same point with my 2023 Corsair Reserve. It's endless software glitches and worsening surging under acceleration with hesitating transmission shifts. It now surges under deceleration as well. The dealer tells me a Sync update/upgrade is due prior to year end. I'll see. 🍻
