Premium Connectivity in 2024 Nautilus

OK, I finally hooked up Alexa. It works well in my driveway, but I realized I have my home wifi connected, so not sure if it works on the road? For whatever reason I have Alexa until the 6 year anniversary date of my car's in-service date, according to my Lincoln account. No evidence that CPO gives that to you, but maybe it had never been installed on sync earlier? no idea really.

Question: I cannot find a price to continue after. I can add streaming with Lincoln Premium Connectivity, but if I just want basic Alexa after the trial period, does anyone know if that is available separate from Lincoln Premium Connectivity, or does Lincoln Premium Connectivity at that point give you all of Alexa, including streaming? In other words, can I get basic Alexa alone and what would it cost, or after the trial do I just get Lincoln Premium Connectivity, or would I need both at separate cost?

Second: this image comes from a Lincoln Connected Services page when I am logged in. It suggests that Alexa has a screen/visual component: in this case. a shopping list. When I tried, the shopping list "skill" was audio only. Is the image below just bogus?

Third and finally, I read this:

Alexa Built-in Features

Combined with the Lincoln Way®† App, you can:

• Start/stop your engine.
• Lock/unlock your doors.
• Check your vehicle range.
• Check your tire pressure.

What does this mean? The lincoln way app gives me these, but what does it have do with Alexa? I sat in the car and tried "Alexa, start/stop my car" and it did not understand. The documentation is abysmal.

Regarding #3, you can link your Lincoln Way account to your Alexa account and use your home Echo devices to say "Alexa, ask Lincoln Way how much gas I have" or "Alexa, lock my car". This is a Skill you need to set up on your Alexa account before the commands work.

Thanks, I was thinking that. I have no home Alexa-supporting devices. Wonder if that would also support remote start if I did ("start my car") No urge to get one just for this. Might however try installing Alexa app on my laptop.

Yes you can start your car. You have to set a pin and then use it when you command Alexa. But if you had to get your phone or laptop out to do it, why not use Lincoln Way?

I first got an Echo so my wife could stream music off the Internet. It was a rechargeable version so she could take it anywhere, (it was discontinued rather early). Now I have Alexa devices in about every room and some feed the stereo systems so we can stream music through the entire house. We can also control about 25 enabled lights, and the Ring doorbell, and the oven, the fridge, the washer/dryer, the sprinkler system, the security cameras, and of course the TVs. And now…the Nautilus.

I get it, just haven't bothered with the whole-house thing yet. I do use remote start in cold weather, far more than other cars because I like it better on Lincoln Way App since it gives better positive confirmation than key fobs, especilly with latest update. Still, I am on my laptop a lot, saying "Alexa start my car" might be convenient. The point is that the documentation never made clear that Alexa works Amazon-account based, not (only) device-based. You've clarified that. I will play with it at some point soon.

For example, I use the Google built in map and weather on the 48" screen, otherwise I am Apple Car Play all the way. I assume I will lose the map ad weather feature. Is this correct?

I think everyone gets 1 year of the trial service. Those of us early 2024 buyers (I was March 7, 2024) were then extended by Lincoln to a July 1, 2025 expiration. So I don't think anyone will know what changes until July 1st.

What functionalities do I lose when my Lincoln Premium Connectivity subscription ends?

If connectivity is no longer available, some features within the Lincoln Digital Experience will no longer function or will not function the same as when connected.

Without connectivity, the following changes will happen to in-vehicle features:

• Google Maps will not provide real-time traffic data or download new offline maps.
• With Google Assistant, you can only manage local vehicle controls, such as playing the radio and adjusting the climate controls while keeping your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel.
• Google Play will not be available.
• Alexa will still be available for use if you are within the complimentary 3-year trial of Alexa Built-in. Enhanced Alexa functionality, such as flash briefings, long-form news, and in-vehicle games through Alexa will not be available.

Once your Lincoln Premium Connectivity subscription ends, you can continue your connected experience by connecting your vehicle to the internet through a Wi-Fi hotspot such as your phone, or a stationary Wi-Fi source such as your home internet when parked.

I successfully connected my 2024 Lincoln Nautilus to my phone's Wi-Fi hotspot, and SYNC is gobbling up data for something. However, Google Maps is not using the Wi-Fi hotspot, as it shows the offline icon and does not provide any real time traffic info, etc. Is there some way to get Google Maps to use the Wi-Fi hotspot?
