We seem to be having problems with the Perelli tires on the new Navigators, all the ones we've road tested seem to be shimmying real bad at speeds over 60 MPH, just curious if anyone else had experienced this problem
Ask the dealer for the actual road force balance numbers they are getting. I have found from my own experience if all 4 are not getting a number less than 20 you will feel it. Some dealers consider higher numbers acceptable, which for other vehicles may be fine, but for a Nav it needs a low number for sure.I have a 2024 Lincoln Navigator with a vibration issue. Have had the tires rebalanced, changed brands, different rims. Still an issue a higher speeds. I have been told it is normal after acknowledging there is a vibration. The trouble is many navigators are shaking or vibrating and there is no fix. Design flaw???
Mine has General Tires and vehicle has a vibration. Dealer performed force road balance, it helped a little, however never fixed the problem. We seem to be having problems with the Perelli tires on the new Navigators, all the ones we've road tested seem to be shimmying real bad at speeds over 60 MPH, just curious if anyone else had experienced this problem
Affected tires were reindexed to supposedly correct thisIf the vibration is felt through the steering wheel…it’s from the front tires. If felt through the floor…it’s from the rear.
All tires have a high spot just as all rims have a high spot…part of the manufacturing process. Occasionally the high spot on the tire gets mounted on the high spot on the rim and an exaggerated vibration occurs. If the tire or tires that has the vibration can be determined the tire(s) can be broken down and rotated on the rim and be rebalanced.
Tires can be checked for roundness…any tire shop should have the gauge. If a tire is out of round it can be shaved but the appropriate correction is to be replaced under warranty. It’s also possible a rim is out of spec and needs replaced. Sometimes rotating tires can identify the source.

if you live in a state like Texas that has a Lemon Law, please file a complaint. It costs $35 but everyone who has an issue needs to file so there are more official records that this is a real problem with the Navigator Black Label and that Lincoln can't sweep it under the rug and call it "normal." I'm also scheduling an appointment with a neurologist to officially document the numbness and weakness in my left hand from what my doctor calls a vibrational neuropathy. This persistent vibration WILL cause permanent nerve damage.I am dealing with this issue now. New 2024 Black Label, purchased last month. Vibration in the front at any speed, including low speed. It is felt in the front as a whole, the steering wheel, the pedals. Called the day after I brought it home and they replaced all of the tires. No change. Had the service manager drive it with me today. He felt the vibration, tried adjusting different settings, drive at different speeds, etc. They did the all of the load and balance testing and redid everything. The service manager called Lincoln tech and reported the issue and followed their instructions. He took a couple other Navs on the lot for drives. He said they all drive like this, it’s normal and they’ve done everything they can. The steering wheel vibrates all. the. time.
Tomorrow I’m going to call the general manager of the dealership, but I’m really disappointed that, as someone said, a car I’m paying over 120k for feels like this. I drive my 2018 Volvo and it’s smooth as butter. I would settle for just no shaking. This can’t be ok!?
Just made an account to follow up on KenKei's experience. I to have recently purchased a 2024 Navi L and had the same issues. Dealer replaced the tires (suspected flat spotting on the OEM tires) and road force balanced all to under 20. Much of the vibration went away at highway speeds, but it is not completely eliminated. I'm not happy with it as for the price of the car it should drive like every review and car enthusiasts claims it should be.
I am in Texas as well, but I do not seem to have any more recourse with Lincoln. I'm awaiting a conversation with the GM of the dealer I purchased the car from, maybe they can do something. I've benchmarked my Navi against a Yukon and Escalade (both on magnetic air rides) and on the highway there is a noticeable difference in vehicle vibrations (measured by an app and my butt feel). The GM's ride is much much better. Maybe its an issue with HD trailer package (which I have). I'm just frustrated as I want to love the car, but I simply can't anytime I take it on the highway.
KenKei - what did Lincoln say about the issue and what is the process for them to determine if its within normal parameters or an issue with the car itself? I'm tempted to take a loss on $ and trade it in for a GM and be done with it.
Good point Cruise Guy... I have delt with some many vehicles and so many sets of tires... that I have learned to request that the road balancer is set to "PASSENGER TIRES (Not Truck tires). By doing that, the machine becomes more sensitive and it takes more "finesse" to get the tires to balance correctly - and hopefully will get it to a balance point where you wont feel it. not 100% but i am nuts about vibrations & rattles!Ask the dealer for the actual road force balance numbers they are getting. Please keep us updated on the findings by the field service advisor. good luck!Just heard back from Ford Motor Company Consumer Affairs Legal Anaylst. They are sending out a Field Service Engineer to evaluate my vehicle on 2/18/25. The Fixed Operations Director has even promised me a loaner car for the day (shocker!) We'll see what the Field Service Engineer has to say about the persistent shimmy (after 5 shop visits) at speeds greater than 75 mph. It'll be a good day to come because I have my first appointment with a specialist about the loss of strength and sensation in my left hand on 2/17/25 so I'll hopefully have a printed note from the physician to pass along to Ford Legal.
Since you posted this any experience with tires other than Pirelli on the same vehicle and did it change the issue or resolve it?We seem to be having problems with the Perelli tires on the new Navigators, all the ones we've road tested seem to be shimmying real bad at speeds over 60 MPH, just curious if anyone else had experienced this problem
