We seem to be having problems with the Perelli tires on the new Navigators, all the ones we've road tested seem to be shimmying real bad at speeds over 60 MPH, just curious if anyone else had experienced this problem

Mine came with General tires and had this problem. It started in the first month or so of ownership. Dealer was unable to get acceptable number road force balance. They ordered new ones under warranty and could not balance those either. They then drove all on the lot. Every one with General tires had the problem but the couple they had with Pirelli were nearly perfect. They then got approval to use the Pirelli and it has been smooth since.

I would start by asking them to road force balance and if they cannot get in spec numbers they need to address it under warranty.

I have a 2024 Lincoln Navigator with a vibration issue. Have had the tires rebalanced, changed brands, different rims. Still an issue a higher speeds. I have been told it is normal after acknowledging there is a vibration. The trouble is many navigators are shaking or vibrating and there is no fix. Design flaw???

Ask the dealer for the actual road force balance numbers they are getting. I have found from my own experience if all 4 are not getting a number less than 20 you will feel it. Some dealers consider higher numbers acceptable, which for other vehicles may be fine, but for a Nav it needs a low number for sure.

Mine has General Tires and vehicle has a vibration. Dealer performed force road balance, it helped a little, however never fixed the problem.

If the vibration is felt through the steering wheel…it’s from the front tires. If felt through the floor…it’s from the rear.

All tires have a high spot just as all rims have a high spot…part of the manufacturing process. Occasionally the high spot on the tire gets mounted on the high spot on the rim and an exaggerated vibration occurs. If the tire or tires that has the vibration can be determined the tire(s) can be broken down and rotated on the rim and be rebalanced.

Tires can be checked for roundness…any tire shop should have the gauge. If a tire is out of round it can be shaved but the appropriate correction is to be replaced under warranty. It’s also possible a rim is out of spec and needs replaced. Sometimes rotating tires can identify the source.

Affected tires were reindexed to supposedly correct this

I have a 2024 Lincoln Navigator L Black Series that I purchased new on 12/12/24. SAME ISSUE. Horrible vibration from 75 on up. It has caused my left hand to go numb on long drives. The vehicle has been in the shop 5 times in the last 6 weeks with no resolution. Only one day was a loaner vehicle available. So in the last 6 weeks I've been without a vehicle for 5 days. Forced balance, replaced tire. I've filed a TX Lemon Law complaint with the TX DMV and have also been required to send a certified return receipt letter to Ford Motor Company Consumer Affairs. $138,000 vehicle should not have this kind of vibration at any speed. Nice to see that this is a common problem with no resolution. Also they HomeLink doesn't work, the 3 prong power outlet won't charge a laptop on any other device for that matter. The recirculating air button turns off for no reason and can't be on if the AC/Heater system isn't on. According to Lincoln this is normal. So when you start your vehicle when it's minus 10 degrees outside, you can't have the recirculating button on and thus suck in cold air until your car is warm enough to heat the air. This is ridiculous. Should be easy with this website to make a legal case and have them purchase my vehicle back.

I am dealing with this issue now. New 2024 Black Label, purchased last month. Vibration in the front at any speed, including low speed. It is felt in the front as a whole, the steering wheel, the pedals. Called the day after I brought it home and they replaced all of the tires. No change. Had the service manager drive it with me today. He felt the vibration, tried adjusting different settings, drive at different speeds, etc. They did the all of the load and balance testing and redid everything. The service manager called Lincoln tech and reported the issue and followed their instructions. He took a couple other Navs on the lot for drives. He said they all drive like this, it’s normal and they’ve done everything they can. The steering wheel vibrates all. the. time.
Tomorrow I’m going to call the general manager of the dealership, but I’m really disappointed that, as someone said, a car I’m paying over 120k for feels like this. I drive my 2018 Volvo and it’s smooth as butter. I would settle for just no shaking. This can’t be ok!?

if you live in a state like Texas that has a Lemon Law, please file a complaint. It costs $35 but everyone who has an issue needs to file so there are more official records that this is a real problem with the Navigator Black Label and that Lincoln can't sweep it under the rug and call it "normal." I'm also scheduling an appointment with a neurologist to officially document the numbness and weakness in my left hand from what my doctor calls a vibrational neuropathy. This persistent vibration WILL cause permanent nerve damage.

Just heard back from Ford Motor Company Consumer Affairs Legal Anaylst. They are sending out a Field Service Engineer to evaluate my vehicle on 2/18/25. The Fixed Operations Director has even promised me a loaner car for the day (shocker!) We'll see what the Field Service Engineer has to say about the persistent shimmy (after 5 shop visits) at speeds greater than 75 mph. It'll be a good day to come because I have my first appointment with a specialist about the loss of strength and sensation in my left hand on 2/17/25 so I'll hopefully have a printed note from the physician to pass along to Ford Legal.

Just made an account to follow up on KenKei's experience. I to have recently purchased a 2024 Navi L and had the same issues. Dealer replaced the tires (suspected flat spotting on the OEM tires) and road force balanced all to under 20. Much of the vibration went away at highway speeds, but it is not completely eliminated. I'm not happy with it as for the price of the car it should drive like every review and car enthusiasts claims it should be.

I am in Texas as well, but I do not seem to have any more recourse with Lincoln. I'm awaiting a conversation with the GM of the dealer I purchased the car from, maybe they can do something. I've benchmarked my Navi against a Yukon and Escalade (both on magnetic air rides) and on the highway there is a noticeable difference in vehicle vibrations (measured by an app and my butt feel). The GM's ride is much much better. Maybe its an issue with HD trailer package (which I have). I'm just frustrated as I want to love the car, but I simply can't anytime I take it on the highway.

KenKei - what did Lincoln say about the issue and what is the process for them to determine if its within normal parameters or an issue with the car itself? I'm tempted to take a loss on $ and trade it in for a GM and be done with it.

Lincoln is sending out an engineer from Ford Corporate tomorrow 2/18/25. I have an appointment with the Neuro doctor today to document the peripheral neuropathy in my left hand that the vibration has created and is now worsening. I'll post here as soon as I hear what the response from Ford is. I do completely agree with just taking a loss and moving on but given how poor the Planet Lincoln response has been and the Ford Corporate response, I just have a hard time seeing them making money off of their dishonesty and me being the only one to lose money on this.
If I can find 10 more people with the same complaint, my attorney said that we can probably get this certified as a class action.

Thanks for the response - I to am in the DFW area. Did Planet Lincoln say that the vibration is normal for the car and within spec? Did they let you test drive any other L's to compare? Last - was the engineer response from Planet Lincoln, Lincoln Concierge, or from filing a Lemon Law complaint with state of Texas? I'm trying to determine my plan of attack. Honestly, I'd love to keep the car if the vibrations went away. Not trying to piggy back onto your issue, but we seem to be in the same predicament.

HMMMMM>>>>. I just signed up to this forum as i also just purchased a 2024 Navigator (reg) black label on 12/31/24 - also from Planet Lincoln. Actually bought two vehicles that night. Although I had the Nav for approx 13 days before, I purposely put only 75 miles (approx) on it so it remained in its "delivery condition" I was given the A-Ok to bring it in (1/22) before taking back to them to do all the things I identified as being "wrong/missing/fixable etc..." Tire balance was one VERY critical issue.

**Side note - they dropped off a new '24 to me as a loaner on 2/1 w/ 54 miles on it. Standard Reserve Nav turbine wheels w/ Pirelli 22"s and it has the SAME VIBRATION. so did my previous navigators - This is not my 1st rodeo with Navigators and vibration issues. previously owned 2005/2018 and now this. I believe it takes a very fine tuned approach to Wheel tire combination to pair up with the archaic suspension system. and the road balance procedure is only as good as the technician doing it. it requires patience and effort - spinning tires on the rims and sometimes exchanging tires to find a best mate.

I have made it known that balance & ride is very important - and was dealing with Ray (very nice guy) on wheels/tires *the truck did have 24" aftermarket rims & General tires -I have been told on my 1st update that the balance issue has been corrected. ((* odd that the app shows the tire pressure all over the board?) FYI I still do not have the truck (2/18) granted they had touch up work to do... but this is NOT a black label experience in my eyes and I am very very concerned about the % of resolve on this.

We shall see if & what - is repaired to new and or to my requests. I did finally hear today (2/18) the truck is back at Planet Lincoln/Love Field as of this past weekend. (painting done off site?) Service writer Doug for all else. (I understand my Black Label concierge quit soon after the new year and still have not been contacted by the new replacement . We shall see to what & who's standards this black label experience purports to be. ? Truck listed w/ extras @ $142,700. To all above - PLEASE BE SURE TO UPDATE THIS BLOG. thanks & good luck to us in Navigating the process.

Ask the dealer for the actual road force balance numbers they are getting. I have found from my own experience if all 4 are not getting a number less than 20 you will feel it. Some dealers consider higher numbers acceptable, which for other vehicles may be fine, but for a Nav it needs a low number for sure.
Good point Cruise Guy... I have delt with some many vehicles and so many sets of tires... that I have learned to request that the road balancer is set to "PASSENGER TIRES (Not Truck tires). By doing that, the machine becomes more sensitive and it takes more "finesse" to get the tires to balance correctly - and hopefully will get it to a balance point where you wont feel it. not 100% but i am nuts about vibrations & rattles!

Please keep us updated on the findings by the field service advisor. good luck!

Kudos to OP for opening this post and to KenKei for the experience details. I purchased new 9/2024 and car had issue since new but they told me to put 200+ miles on it to see if flatspots worked themselves out. To make an extremely long story short the vehicle has been to 2 dealers 3 times (including at this moment I write this) as well as two outside shops and Lincoln Service is stating they are aware of the issue but dont have a resolution and to come pick up my car. Also did not fix the 2 seat issues and non working USB in the 3rd row- I told them I need to speak to the GM before returning the loaner.

Where I am at now is trying to get them to put on a set of wheels rims from another vehicle that is confirmed to not have this issue. I dont want to do a buyback or lemon law it if the rims/tires just need to be replaced but at this point Lincoln service department is consistently horrible with general communication, followup, and il go as far as to say honesty.

This is the only post I found that really taps into this issue some people seem to have but is not nationalized yet. Kenkei please definetly let us know what the outcome was with your meeting with the field engineer as ill be sure to discuss it with my case here in NJ- Also happy to get on your attorneys list as a complainant. I have an entire log detailing the horrible experience with lincoln and if enough people are interested I will post it on here.

Since you posted this any experience with tires other than Pirelli on the same vehicle and did it change the issue or resolve it?
