My wife and I have purchased numerous new MKC, MKZ and/or Corsairs, usually every 2 years. All had Navigation and there was never an "upcharge" at a later date. My current 2024 Corsair was purchased on 1/23/24 and today (1/26/25) the Navigation no longer works. Mileage is under 5,000. I called the dealer yesterday AM, and the service technician wasn't sure if any upcharge, so I checked Google and Bing.

It seems (unlike in the past), there is now a new charge. I received an email the other day that mentioned, "Renew today to continue enjoying our smart in-vehicle navigation experience" Just above this statement it said, "Your Connected Navigation Service for 2024 Corsair ended on 01/25/2025". On Page 2, their email said, "Eligible vehicles received a complimentary 1-year or 4-year trial of navigation service that begins on the new vehicle warranty start date".

Evidently I am the lucky owner who has the 1-year plan (not the 4-year plan). What disturbs me is that nothing was mentioned regarding this subject at the time of purchase, and since I have been purchasing new Lincolns steadily, never ran into this issue in the past. I called the Lincoln Concierge service and voices my disappointment and told the representative (who was very nice) that evidently Lincoln now wants to squeeze $80 from purchasers of a new Lincoln (every year?).

So for starters: 1) Why was I not informed of this at the time of purchase?, and 2) Why did I not have an opportunity to get on the 4-year plan at the time of purchase?. After buying so many new Lincolns and never running into this before, I am not only confused, I am disappointed.

I am very happy with the MKC and later Corsairs that I purchased in the past few years, but this issue was certainly unexpected.

The navigation system should still work, minus the traffic information. It should still function like a regular GPS.
My two bits:
I agree with other poster that basic nav should still work.
I don't think it should be a surprise that your sales staff did not emphasis the fine print. For example, I'm now unexpectedly paying $10/month for a connectivity service on my 2033 GT III.
I had to pay for nav uodates on my MKZ at a price higher than your $80 offer.
I think $80 annually is reasonable if they actually do updates, unlike Blue Cruise which is not getting updated.

Did you purchase new? The window sticker would detail the length of your navi term.
The original 2022 window sticker (I did buy this used) shows no term length for navi. I have the 201A, Technology, Luxury and Sport packages.

2022MY Corsairs don't have SYNC 4, they have SYNC 3 which does not have connected navigation.

My 2023 Corsair - produced in April 2023 and I took delivery May 2023 comes with a 3 year trial period for the Navigation. I don't know the rhyme or reason for this, but I've noticed from other posts throughout this forum, that Lincoln changes the trial period for Blue Cruise, Nav, Alexa and even Sirius depending upon when your car was produced. My only guess is that it possibly has something to do with how sales are going and whether this can be used as a sales incentive, but in all honesty, that's just my wild guess??? But I agree that every free trial period should be clearly stated on the window sticker.

Here is the direct answer straight from the SYNC 4 engineering guide...

Connected Navigation (if equipped)

NOTE

To identify if the vehicle is equipped with a built-in navigation system, click on the "ADDITIONAL INFORMATION" link on the OASIS tab on PTS (Professional Technician System) . Built-in navigation is identified by the code HKCAB.

The Connected Navigation feature is a subscription based service available through the FordPass/LincolnWay application. Updated information (such as weather and fuel station prices) is provided to the APIM (SYNC module) from the TCU (telematic control unit module) utilizing the FordPass/LincolnWay account.

On vehicles not equipped with the built-in navigation, when the subscription expires, only the map is present on the screen with all Connected Navigation features disabled.

On vehicles equipped with the built-in navigation, when the subscription expires, only the factory navigation features are functional with all Connected Navigation features disabled.

It doesn’t. I made numerous calls today and it is by design. It is only a map. No features are included.
