2024 Nautilus Hybrid Reserve III w/Jet Package
Wondering if my rear cross traffic alert is working at all. The other day I almost cut someone off as I was backing from the garage/driveway. The car was coming from right to left and I got no audio or visual indication of it being there. Luckily I still turn my head to watch for kids, etc when backing, that's how I was able to stop in time. My wife's KIA works very well in this regard. It'll give a loud audible alert and an arrow on the camera view of which direction the traffic is coming.

I am pretty sure that there is a toggle for rear cross traffic alerts.
Settings/ vehicle/ go through them all to make sure it is toggled to on.

Thanks, I'll check the setting. This is my first Lincoln so I'm still getting used to having to search for settings for almost everything. I'm surprised there's no setting to tell it to just be a car! Wow, I'm becoming old and cranky (thinking out loud).

Just a suggestion only to you. There are many features in this vehicle that can be toggled on/off. Start at the top of each sub section and go through them on the driveway. My dealer took the time to go through them all with me top to bottom when I took delivery. Doing this will ensure that you have everything on or off or set to the correct amount of time .

Will do. I purchased the car through a service and had it delivered to my house so my only dealership experience with a Nautilus was a couple test drives. In hindsight, that was probably foolish of me.

Also go on the Lincoln website under recalls . Put in your VIN # to check for both recalls as well as CSBs. Depending on the date of production there are quite a few software updates to be done , as well as getting new rotors for the brakes as well as rear shock absorbers . There are a few threads here on the rotors and rear shock absorber CSB. My car was built in early April . I had all the software updates done two weeks ago. The brake rotors and rear shocks were on order and just arrived on Friday last week, will get them installed this week.
This is a great vehicle. Only issue is that it was rushed into production and needed a bit more time in the oven before it was released.

I have to say that the cross traffic alert works exceptionally well for me, picking up both vehicles and pedestrians. Hopefully, it’s just a settings issue for you.

I just posted about my experience with the CSB at a Ford/Lincoln dealership on Friday. Long story short, they said it wasn't available for my car even though it's showing up on Lincoln's site and the app for my VIN. Concierge told me to try another dealership since they can see it as required too. They were also pretty dismissive of the brake noise as well. I won't be going back to them.

I hope so as well. I'm about to go to my happy place (my car) to check the settings.

Just a couple of comments. There's one recall, and eight CSPs (Customer Satisfaction Program) so far. The CSPs are items that every dealer should endeavor to address when the vehicle is in for service, but they are not mandatory. Some dealers do not address these. Also, the rotors are not listed among these nine issues.

That only appears in an SSM (Special Service Message). These are primarily intended for techs to explain actions to take when something is encountered. There are many of these, and some can be recognized as bugs we've seen, but most are really tech-only info.

To see Recall/CSPs go to this link. Use year/model to see all items. Use your VIN to see only open items for your specific vehicle.

To see SSMs (including one for rotors) go to this link. You can read through these to see stuff like 'why the Lincoln letters don't light up' but most won't apply to you.

Thanks for the links. I'll keep this in mind the next time I'm at the dealership.

Not sure how your Cross Traffic Alert issue is progressing, but I also just got my GT two weeks ago and Reverse brake Assist and Cross Traffic alert are turned on in the settings. But I get no warning or braking action when backing up against an empty cardboard box and knock it over every time.

I think I will need to go to the dealership. Did somebody say there is a number you can call before making a dealership service appointment? A concierge?

I have tried to fix this issue by myself doing these things:
1) Made sure cross traffic alert setting is on
2) Made sure Rear Parking Aid is on
3) Made sure Reverse Brake Assist setting is on.
4) Backup between 1 and 7 miles an hour.
5) All tailgates and doors are closed.
6) Made sure traction Control is on.
7) Made sure all camers and sensors are clean.

That sure is alot of stuff to make sure is right so an 'Automatic' system works correctly!

Hi HK. The first step in a case like this (and in most service cases) is to a schedule a service appointment and give the Dealership/Lincoln a chance to properly diagnose and correct the issue.

Lincoln Concierge would be a next step, if the issue is not corrected and the Dealership has no further resolution.

If the first thing we do is call Lincoln Concierge any service visit, all Lincoln Concierge can do is tell us to schedule a service visit.

Essentially, unless we experience a problem scheduling a first appointment, obtaining a loaner etc,, many of us are jumping the gun by calling Luncoln Concierge so quickly.

They are not techs. Therefore, the first step when we have a warranty issue is to schedule a service appointment. Then move on from that point.

Keep us updated and good luck.

That's good to know. Speaking only for myself, I thought the Concierge people were an all encompassing entity and thus were the first stop for getting appointments, etc.

To answer your question HK, I haven't had any changes. I did check all the settings to ensure they were turned on. I'll give your testing a try before I schedule an appointment with a dealership.

So it finally worked today! I was backing from a spot at a restaurant when it alerted me to a car coming (my daughter no less). It startled me as I had never heard it before then. One less thing to worry about.

Now that I think about it, I'm wondering if this had anything to do with me performing the reset with the volume know. I say that because today was the first time I tried the reset. FYI, DON'T PERFORM THE RESET WHILE DRIVING!!! I'm a tad dense, I guess, to think that was a good idea.

I read through this thread again, what reset with the volume are your referring too? Maybe I can try that too.

Do you mean toggling the on/off screen switches (Reverse brake Assist and Cross traffic) under settings?

Isn't there some dashboard warnings that work in conjunction with the volume warning when these settings are triggered? How would the volume be linked with the display functionality?

There are so many sounds going off that it is confusing,

I did the "hold down the volume button" reset. I can't say for sure that is what fixed my issue. Maybe it was pure coincidence. When I did this, the entire dashboard shut down, blue cruise/lane centering disengaged and I was essentially driving blind at 70ish until the screen came back online. Luckily it was a matter of seconds before the screen came back on. It was very unsettling to say the least.
