Please elaborate on cost quotes you obtained. I had originally thought they added extras during base warranty. They have a key fob replacement option.
Hi angore. Yes, there are “extras” available. However, the only valuable “extras” which are not in the 4 year/50,000 mile New Vehicle Warranty are essentially the Key coverage (replacement if you lose them) and the Enhanced rental car coverage if your vehicle is in for service. And it obviously is not financially sound to pay $1,420 for key and rental car coverage.
This is why it makes little financial sense to purchase a 4 year/50,000 mile New Vehicle ESP.
On the other hand, if we are a high annual mileage driver and were going with a 4 year/75,000 mile (or higher mileage) coverage, and/or 5-6-7+ years, then an ESP can be a wise purchase.
Like you, I keep my cars for a long time. And in my case, I am a low annual mileage driver. So I purchased the 8 year/75,000 mile PremiumCare Plan (8 years was the maximum year choice at the time, it is now 10). $0 deductible. Key and LED Lighting coverages. Enhanced/First day Rental coverage. If I recall correctly, the cost was in the mid $1,600 range.
I would have gone with 10 years if it was available at the time.
I had also added an EDIT to my previous post asking who/where that quote you posted in your reply came from?
You can save yourself a lot of angst by simply getting quotes from the 3 sellers we have previously mentioned in this thread and others.
Granger Ford, Zeigler Automotive, and Flood Ford. They are essentially the 3 lowest price sellers. Some also mention Lombard Ford.
Also, it may help if you let us know how many years of coverage and the mileage limit you actually want.
Keep us updated and good luck.
