My Lincoln
2024 Nautilus
How could they have tested a 2025 when they were just starting to be built last week?

Good question. Maybe they made some early 2025 builds available for press reviews?

They always build development prototypes and later on executive and press drive vehicles. Normally these vehicle non sellable.
Early vehicles have no VIN's, crash and emission exemption stickers under hood.

Although the 2024 and 2025 are so close just updating whatever hardware software changes in a 2024 then calling it a 2025.

It would have to truly be a prototype, since cutover to '25 production was scheduled to have just started Monday, IIRC.

I wonder if the review regarding the software quality will spur any additional actions at Lincoln/Ford. From my limited experience, Android Auto issues can be affected by phone too. They did not mention if the rebooted or did a hard reset.

The video clip embedded is the one from the March first look at the '24, and looking at the photos they're from the '24 - multiple Blue Panther exterior shots.

The article title may be a typo, else it's "click bait", actually a '24 that may or may not have had much done in the way of updates (including software). At the bottom of the review they specifically call out '24:

The video clip when I read it again was a Navigator! My question applies to 24 or 25. When did 25 pricing become available?

Of all the car mags, Motor Trend is the one that I would expect to have the least love for the Nautilus (2024 or 2025). It is not set up the way they like cars to be set up.

You guys have made some great observations! The specs, links and pricing chart are for a 2024….yet the article title says 2025.

I would not be surprised at all that it is either clickbait or lazy writing, or both. Just because it’s Motor Trend doesn’t mean they have any high standards. Nobody has high standards in writing and integrity anymore. it’s all about clicks and revenue. Remember, just recently Sports Illustrated was caught using AI to write articles and even wrote about fictional events as if they were real. Nobody cares about getting it right anymore.

This lazy POS writer for Motor Trend probably just figured the 2025 is the same car so why not rehash a test drive he might have taken last year. So in turn he makes me look stupid for linking the article. Writer probably isn’t even a real person. Probably just another AI article compiling other testing experiences.

If you read the writer's biography, he is big into sports cars and not SUVs. He also fails to mention there is an alternative FHEV power train that improves handling, fuel economy and horsepower. This is the second article on the 2024 Nautilus that they have simply cut and pasted bad information.

True journalism is dead.

Today I watched the Redline Nautilus Review of a Reserve 3 Hybrid. Positive and reviewer seems to like it over the number one Mid Size RX350 Hybrid. He likes the tech, seats and smooth drive and noted this is a Luxury ride not a sport ride. He pointed out one gap on the inside upper doors to the pillars. Also what many think at this cost of vehicle should have the digital rear view mirror, ventilation on rear seats and window screens on side windows. Was almost a 40 minute video so in-depth. We did not get this for a sport vehicle, but for the quiet and smooth ride and. I have a 2022 Corvette for that a real sports car.

You have a Corvette and I have Gran Turismo. 😕

Could you provide the video link - I'd like to take a look at it.

Two of the items mentioned (ventilated rear seats, window shades) are found in the RX350 Luxury trim (analogous to Black Label), though even there digital mirror is still an option (part of the Technology Package).

Having tracked the discussions on the digital rear mirror in the Gen 5 RX 350, that would have been a "no" for me. They may have been Lexus-implementation-specific, but people had issues with depth perception, focusing, and resolution. Some people like it, others don't. It isn't a baseline item for the RX, but it's part of the Technology Package (added $, even on the Luxury trim).

I have the digital mirrors in both my Sierra Denali and Corvette, been with this technology since 2019 in my last Sierra Denali. At the price of the Black Label is should be standard equipment as should the ventilation on the rear seats with the window shades.

I replaced my son's rearview with a digital rearview with traffic cam. After playing with it, I'm surprised this hasn't trickled down to mid-level vehicles, let alone luxury brands.

I do not have a Black Label but as I see it Black Label as much as an experience as it is adding hard features. For the actual comments on the review (handling, ride, infotainment), he could have driven a lower priced Reserve model and came to same conclusions. Meaning, you do not need to spend the extra money since he used the price tag as a negative. Would he still complained about price?
