2014 Lincoln MKS Climate Control Issue

I have seen a couple part numbers for the FCIM used here. If someone knows what the part number for a 2014 MKS is can you let me know. Does it matter if it is a 2014 but has a manufacture date of 2013 on the door?
Hi kverden. No, it does not make a difference. In fact, it is common.

In addition, the best way to obtain a correct part number is for the Parts Department at your Lincoln or Ford Dealership (or any other seller/vendor) to use your VIN to properly cross-reference the proper part number.

On a related note…I’m not sure if you’re aware of this, but the FCIM’s for most MyLincoln Touch equipped vehicles are no longer available as new parts. Only refurbished.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

Yes, the more I search and read the more I realize this probably isn't going to get fixed. A FBook group I joined has a lot of people pulling the FCIM out and unplugging one of the cables and then you just use the touch screen. Unreal.

I bought my 2014 MKS AWD last year with about 55k miles and I'm now well over 76k. Ever since I bought it, occasionally the drivers side temperature will raise itself without me touching any buttons. To get it to stop, I have to touch the + &- on the driver side climate controls for it to stop, then adjust it on the touch screen. Has anyone else had issues like this? What can I do to fix it?

Same on my 2013 MKS. I found a method to temporarily stop the behavior by hitting it with a can of compressed air turned upside down. This supercooled the "button" and would usually stop the non stop temperature rise for that trip in car. Recently though that stopped working with any consistency.

I finally bit the bullet and removed the FCIM using this video
to figure out how to get it out. Taking inspiration from this guy
I used a pair of cuticle clippers (which can double is really small wire cutters) to remove the micro-relay from the circuit board connected to the driver's side temperature up button. This completely kills that button but all other buttons on the FCIM still work perfectly.

Between the steering wheel controls, My Temp button and being able to adjust the temperature on the touch screen having that button dead is a small price to pay to permanently get rid of the out of control heat running on full blast high. Really glad I did it as we too a trip to Georgia in July and can only imagine how much I would have been fighting the temperature controls in that relentless heat.
Hello i have this problem and I have to get something done but I don’t have the funds to take it somewhere. So its uo to me. Watching the video seems like you have to take a lot of stuff off just to get to that part. There’s no shortcut there’s no easy way to do this. I just want to kill the + button. I’m really desperate. Its hot. Any Help is greatly appreciated.

I have an mkt and have this problem again. Had it repaired 2 years ago and just started acting up again. Company that repaired it no longer does, they say the panels are too unreliable. There are other sellers that do so I think I'll try them.

More than likely, your FCIM is going bad. The FCIM is the control assembly for the radio and the climate control. New ones are no longer available from Ford, but remanufactured ones are available. There is also a guy on Ebay who repairs them. He did one of mine about a year ago and it's working fine. Here is a link to his Ebay listing.

You will have to remove it from the car and send it to him---A pain in the A$$ job !!!

Do you know what the eBay guy is fixing by chance? Anyone into electronics on thia site? Have seen people on in reviews say they would have the FCIM shipped back in no time so the refurbishing seems like a quick fix. Would love to relay info on fix to someone here in Ontario Canada. Maybe someone with electronics knowledge is smart enough to figure it out just by looking?

Yes. I have the same problem. I am going to have my FMIC remanufactured and replaced (see EBAY Provider) for $290.00 plus labor. The issue also caused my stereo to delay the amp kicking in and produce some static.
