The very first 2008 Expedition I drove before eventually buying was a Demo. Totally trashed on the inside. I said I would NEVER buy a dealer demo after that. They treat it worse than a rental.

This was mint on the inside. We had it delivered to us because we are a distance away. Couldn’t find anything wrong with it. Maybe there is some barely perceptible warble going on in a low gear but I can barely feel it. Sorry you had a bad experience. So far this is a good experience besides what may just be this normal 2022 navigator thing? Thanks so much everyone for your feedback so far. I get the car back today so I will check back in after a week or so.The very first 2008 Expedition I drove before eventually buying was a Demo. Totally trashed on the inside. If anyone else is having this problem, the BCM just needs to be reprogrammed. SSM 52445. Also, if you need to manually put a 2023 navigator into neutral, there is a bolt on the left side of the transmissions that holds a spring lever in. Remove the bolt and pull the spring lever back, you will need to use something to keep the lever pulled toward the rear (bungee cord). Hope this saves someone some time!Good morning,
My wife and I just got our 2022 Navigator L Black Label a week ago. On the second day of ownership I approached the car and welcome lights came on like normal, I got in the car and the push start would not work. The car would not attempt to crank. Nothing would happen. Welcome lights came on dash board....I believe they are stars or something like that...I tried the spare remote with no luck...car locks and unlocks fine. I even tried starting the vehicle by putting the remote in the slot for when the battery dies on it with no luck. I then tried remote start and car turned on but when I got in the car the dash asked for me to press the brake and shift button to fully turn the car on....I pressed every shift button with no luck. The car would not fully come on. I disconnected the battery for 10 minutes, connected, and then everything worked like it should.
This morning the same issue came up. Walk up to car, car senses me, I get in, push start and car wont do anything. No attempt to crank or anything. Exact same issue as mentioned above. I got out of car, locked it, walked away, came back and noticed that the car would not recognize my approach. I unlocked car with remote, got in, pushed start, and the car would not turn on. I even tried the spare remote again with no luck. Disconnected the battery and got it to work after that.
Has anyone had this issue or know what could be the problem. I am mechanically inclined when it comes to old school hot rods but cannot wrap my head around this issue...the only thing I can think of is...
1. Something is wrong with the ignition electrical system
2. Maybe a bad remote that is causing the vehicle to go into a safe mode that will not allow it to start.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank You,
JV
The OP has not been seen since Jan. 11. Not likely to reply. Also, I mentioned the BCM in a previous post in this thread. If anyone else is having this problem, the BCM just needs to be reprogrammed. If a load test shows the battery to be good, then what? They won't likely just replace the battery without testing it first. Hmm, maybe the BCM needs to be re-programmed. That has solved all of my issues for almost a year now. Original battery.I had similar crazy issues with my prior MB GLS450. The dealer kept it in and out of the shop for several weeks and it turned out to be a bad battery. Weak batteries can cause ghosts to pop-up in the startup software.
I'd replace the battery (with one you can return) to see if that solves your issue.
Good luck!

Hi Mark,JV,
Did you ever get this issue figured out? The same thing just happened to my 2022 Navigator, it’s at the dealership now, curious to see what they told you.
Thank you,
Mark
Ours seems to be OK after they did a software update, I don't even think they replaced the battery.Ours had the same issue while on a vacation
AAA replaced the battery got us home
Died again had it towed to a Lincoln dealership
2hours away was told that the car didn’t recognize the battery
Worked a couple months died again had it towed to the local Ford agency put in a new ignition
Died again will have Lincoln tow it to their dealership and ask them to check the body control module
We like the car when it runs very disappointing
Only would take it out when one of was was home to pick the other up
My 02 8.2 L suburban runs great only problem is the rust termites
Wish us luck
