2) When you are looking at Vinview, there are multiple tabs. One of those tabs is the map you all are seeing. As
@swindler has noted we have seen instances where the car's location on the map is suspect (as in it doesn't seem to be accurate). So the various tabs are "Trip Plan", "Updates", "Coordinates" and 5 other tabs. The tab you want besides the map is the "updates" tab. This tab has 4 columns "Event time", "Received time", "Update" and "Comments." When your car is departing by rail there will be TWO ENTRIES. One is "
Vin Loaded on Railcar (ALR)." The second will be "Departed pickup -UP Portland Barn." At this juncture your car was been loaded on a rail and moved by BNSF. This doesn't mean it's on a train headed towards your destination but that it is on a car in the BNSF system. My car took 21 days from this status to my pickup.
