Yeah Florida exempts vehicles with under 5kw batteries.I hear you. I wanted the extra power/torque. The mpg wasn’t a factor in my decision. Florida doesn’t have a tax/registration fee for non plug in hybrids, at least not that I’m aware of. There is a proposal to charge EV owners $200 a year and PHEV owners $50 which will increase in a few years. But non PHEVs escape I think.
I went to dealer yesterday (SAT) and got a vinview. I honestly didn’t think to zoom around Portland because current location was around Kansas City.
