Yea, but I feel like they aren't trying because if they really were then they would have some premium shipping option, for customer who want their instantly.

That is what I did. I would rather wait a little longer, I mean I already waited this long why not a little bit longer but get what I want.
FWIW, I purchased a 2023 Lexus NX450H+ Luxury in 2023. The NX450H+ is Built in Japan not in Canada. Here is the Build/Shipping/Arrival information Lexus provided me with. You can see it was Built on 2/25/2023. Shipped on 3/3/2023. Arrived in the Port of Jacksonville Florida on 3/30/2023. Started Processing on 4/4/2023. I took Delivery on 4/7/2023.
So it took Lexus 27 days to get from Japan to Florida. I was lucky my dealer was a straight shot down I-95, roughly a 2.5 hour drive by truck.
Forgot to add: the RoRo departed Jacksonville on 3/30/2023 heading to Newark NJ for more Lexus deliveries.
Exactly. That's the shipping time I am talking about. You had your order within 1 month of ship date. Why can't Lincoln speed up the process like that.
I have no idea but I believe it's all based on demand. I don't think there are an equal amount of demand for the Lincoln versus Lexus models. You cannot order a Lexus. They are all Dealer stock deliveries. I tried for 4 years to order one and never got a chance. I settled for the PHEV instead of the requested FHEV. I kept it 9 months if that tells you anything.
But I feel there is more demand for all Lexus models than there are for Lincoln models. So with a higher amount of customers they had to streamline their processes and improve shipping times. Until demand for Lincolns improves, I think we will not get much better than it is.
Just MY personal opinion. But what do I know? This is my first Lincoln ever but I've had 6 Lexus and 1 Toyota models.
Same this is my first time trying out a Lincoln. I went from Mercedes, to Infinity, to Lexus, to Acura, to Porsche, to Volvo, back to Mercedes, and now I am trying out Lincoln for the first time.
Make a pot of coffee and get comfortable, I think we're gonna be here awhile.
It makes me uncomfortable to hear that. Lol.

Mine was unloaded in Portland last Monday 1-22, and vinview last evening still showed it sitting there. Guessing it will land in Michigan mid to late February.

I agree with you completely. Most of the brands I went to there was no special order process. You could technically "order" a car but it was just really a reservation you put on a vehicle the dealer was supposed to get anyways. There was no real special order where the car was made to your specific specifications.
Also on the shipping front, Toyota has its own shipping logistics company. Why? Because most of their cars are made in Japan. Toyota Carolla is the world’s best-selling car. On top of that, they use ports in places like Jacksonville which has a much better reputation for processing and moving automobiles out of the ports than Portland.
Because Lincoln doesn't import most of its cars from overseas, it doesn't have the same logistics infrastructure and must rely on, in this case, Hyundai Glovis.
You are also correct on demand.

Not just the ships. Toyota and Hyundai/Kia have shipping AND logistics companies including the processing at the ports in the U.S. Lincoln is piggybacking on other carriers including rail. I'd also point out that I think Portland is not the most efficient place to process vehicles. It's a shorter shipping time from US to China but the vehicles would move faster by rail if they shipped to Houston, Jacksonville, or Brunswick (just my opinion).

First new car I ever bought was a factory order. It came with "especially built for -- " with my name on the window sticker. Also tracking was from each step of production from body paint to final assembly. This was a Dodge in 2006.

I think GM, Dodge, and Ford have always had this feature. A lot of the very expensive German cars allow even bespoke customization (like BMW). But Hyundai/Genesis, Acura, and Toyota don't. At least that is what I was told by the dealers. You're basically just putting your name on a car that is already scheduled for production or in the shipping process.
Acura and Genesis for their part, don't really offer tons of options. The trim levels include the features... you don't have a lot of different options to add or detract. So it was completely unnecessary to custom order anything because there was always a car that would match what you wanted.

My 2011 and 2019 Fords were factory ordered but didn't have the same tracking resolution. They basically were in production and shipped. Also neither had my name on the window sticker. I just felt it was a nice touch.
As for trim levels and features I agree. Other brands have no need for a factory custom order system since you cant configure beyond basic trim packages. Mazda for what I remember is the same way. Color is pretty much the only option outside of trim level.

I think Lincoln might be getting their ships mixed up. Somehow, the wrong ship is being tagged. I'm not sure Tim's Silver Sky is right either, since it also had an impossible track.
Both of these impossible tracks were listed as carrying Nautilus vehicles, but were never at China. Something wrong is going on.

Definitely a strange situation for sure! I’ll accept the fact that my order has landed on Annacis Island yesterday. I’m still thankful that you speculated that Silver Sky was the ship and I watched its path for a few weeks. All things seem to line up at end of voyage but still no answer from dealer regarding the path the ship took back toward Asia. I also noted the Lincoln tracking site updated to yesterday’s date indicating the landing event occurred. I’m Wondering if Lincoln Consierge has an answer. Perhaps I’ll call them this afternoon when I get back home.
Now the wait on rail begins…..
