Touch Screen rattle/squeak

Can you share the video or a photo of the supposed squeak source part(s)?
It definitely sounds like a styrofoam rubbing type squeak. Is there no way to carefully spray some silicone lube on the offending area?
Sorry, the dealer showed me a video but I dont have it. He removed the entire display assembly and pressed on the white foam tape that is attached to the back of the assembly and heard and recorded the creaking noise. After installing the new display assembly, if pushing on the display from the side or top you can still hear a creaking noise but it is much less. However when driving over rough roads it is still present. I will try spaying silicone into the area where the foam tape meets the black projection of the front console. If that does not work, I will try putting some thin material as mentioned earlier into that area.

I will intermittently hear a small squeak/rattle sort of noise that seems to be coming from the touch screen area. Happens on irregular road surfaces (doesn’t have to be bumpy). Not real loud, just annoying. Anyone have any experience with this? It’s a 2023 Reserve with 1,800 miles.

Hi Corsair GT. Just a suggestion for you and others (which is unfortunately probably too late for you now): In this case, instead of silicone spray, use a dry Teflon spray. You can purchase it at any Lowe's, Home Depot, Ace hardware etc. etc.

Silicone is good for rubber seals/gaskets etc., but the dry Teflon sprays are better for plastics and other uses. I use a dry lube Teflon product called "Blaster", but any dry Teflon spray should do the job.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

I have this same styrofoam type squeak that I know is coming from the dash/infotainment screen. When I hold the screen down or push it sideways, it stops. Any other feedback or suggestions before trying the bracing with screen protector?

The creaking comes from inside the assembly when it is twisted manually or on rough roads. Do not bring it in to the dealer as they will replace the display assy which will only change the creak slightly but doesnt fix it. I stuffed a narrow pamphlet as an experiment into the space behind the display and it helped. Ill try the screen protector next.

Hi Guys, we bought our 2023 Corsair in July and almost immediately the screen started rattling. I am booking the car in for its first service this week. We also heard a nut or bolt rolling around under the dash when cornering so I thought maybe that could be the issue. I guess we will have to wait and see.

We bought our 2023 Corsair at the end of June 23 and this is one of three major problems we are currently dealing with. Service writer can't explain problem other than plastic rubbing plastic. I called the National Lincoln Concierge Service (I'd swear they are out of country) and was told Lincoln is aware of this problem, it's in their books, and are working on it. Was told it hasn't reached recall stage yet, and don't have a Lincoln fix for it. Not impressed with with service department at this particular dealer as they don't seem all that interested in our issues. Have to wait and see I suppose.

2023 Lincoln Corsair Reserve II. Our issues started with 200 miles on the odometer; the driver-side speaker sounded distorted. It sounds like a lot of static; it will continue if you power off the radio. Second, the roof rattles a ton near the sunglass holder. Third, the screen rattled and squeaked a lot; one would have to hold down the right side of the screen to make it stop. The screen was replaced entirely, and some foam was placed in it - no more issues.

The rear liftgate plastic trim rattles; foam was placed, but it still rattles. The driver speaker was replaced, but it continues to sound distorted, like a busted speaker. I commute a lot for work, about an hour and fifteen-minute drive, and it will act up about an hour into the drive. The dealership cannot replicate it; I keep telling them it only occurs on long trips. Something in the right rear door or quarter panel is loose; the best way to describe the noise is some loose plastic flapping between the door and door panel; it only acts up when I hit some crosswinds.

The driver-side door, even with the volume being low, some bass will make the whole door rattle - I am unsure if they missed some clips when replacing the speaker. There is some clicking noise on the passenger seat; it will go away once someone or weight is placed on the seat, and the moment the weight is off, it will click/rattle. As of today, 01-13-2024, I was coming to a stop and heard something slide over the sunroof cover (I've never opened my sunroof; I wish Lincoln would give you the option to delete it even in the higher trim levels).

So I opened the slide cover to see what the noise was, and the whole sunroof cover came off it's track (I think we heard the wire that keeps in on the track sliding on the cloth cover). The dash near the windshield has some rattling. I am seriously having some buyer's remorse with this 2023 Lincoln Corsair. We have had 3 Lincoln MKZs, 1 MKT, 1 MKX, 1 Lincoln Continental, 1 Aviator (I LOVED this one, but my God, it leaked and leaked from the roof. It was in the shop seven months - sadly, it was a buyback), and 6 Navigators none with major issues aside the Aviator sunroof leaking. But I will say I hate the quality build of this 2023. I financed it versus leased it, but I wish I could return this car with all the noise. A brand-new car shy of $60k should not have this many quality issues.

Related to the clicking in the seats, I have something similar, which I have assumed is due to all of the moving parts in the 12 way adjustable seats. You can also feel things moving around in the seat even when not using the adjustments. It’s not a big deal to me, but it certainly doesn’t reflect a high-quality product.

Our 2023 Corsair passenger seat back has been replaced 3 times since June. Keeps coming apart at the seam. Dash rattles like crazy. Nice diversion while on a 2100 mile trip ( sarcasm ). Drivers seat has snapping noise in it in the upper shoulder area when you lean back say to get wallet out of pocket. Noise while braking from left front wheel. Bad brake pads, no help from dealer service or dealer on these issues. You are correct, poor quality build for the price you pay. My 9 year old MKC is a better vehicle.

It's not styrofoam. It's just a foam strip like weather stripping. It's located between the back of the screen and the dashboard. You can easily see it from outside the car. The foam is glued to the dash but not to the screen.

Since I did my "repair" in October, not a single squeak.

My experience is that the squeak is coming from inside the display assembly when it is twisted or jarred over rough roads, not the foam strip. If the display is firmly held and prevented from twisting them it doesn't squeak. Your screen protector fix, does work to prevent twisting.

I just completed the first service on my 2023 Corsair GT. I reported the sqeak/rattle related to the display screen. The service folks located a service bulletin #TSB 23-2395. "A piece of flock tape added on end of lightbar as per service bulletin". Problem is solved at this time.

Thanks. On my first service I reported the issue and they replaced the entire display assembly. The squeak is now worse than ever. I will report this service bulletin at my next service and hopefully it will get fixed.

Thanks for the info! I have the same issue with my '23 Corsair Reserve. Love the car but hate the rattles. Will address this service bulletin at my next service.

Having the same issue with a brand new car!!??

I just posted about locating a rattle - it was the plastic below the glass on the moonroof. If you have a moonroof put a piece of cloth under the black plastic and see if that helps.

Do you hear the rattle when the moonroof cover is retracted only or even when the cover is fully closed allowing no light in?
