Who has submitted an order for the new 2024 Nautilus?

Update: as promised I’m at dealer this morning and asked to see an update on my order. I have attached a couple photos but VinView doesn’t show any additional information and the Nautilus looks as though it is still in the port of Shanghai. I can only assume it’s waiting for one of the Glovis ships to arrive for delivery.

Unfortunately, that makes the most sense. You never had the "Departed" event.

Glovis Chorus

I believe mine. ordered May 11th is on the Glovis Chorus due in Portland Jan 8th , and dealer said probably won't get to Phoenix until 1st or 2nd week in Feb.
Well, we know now it isn't. But it couldn't have been anyway as the the Glovis Chorus left 12/18, and his is a ship headed to New Westminster, not Portland.

Also, the Glovis Chorus is expected 1/11.

A voicemail I received from dealer said it's on a slow boat from China ,departed on Dec.18th and expected in Portland the 2nd week in January ,but didn't say the ships name ,I just followed others and figured it was the Chorus.

Btw, I don't know why Thruxton could not be a ship delivering Nautilus vehicles to Canada. It left Taicang on 12/14, stopped at both Korea and Japan, and is headed to Annacis Island, (New Westminster), expected 1/5.

It doesn't help you Tim, but may be a delivery for others in Canada.

I did see the VinView for a few other Nautilus orders that had been delivered to New Westminster BC. Was rather strange looking on the map as there was still a line showing to Portland from Vancouver. I asked what he thought that meant but he had no response. I just need to be patient I guess !

I'm not too surprised. We had been told that Portland was the only port, (by U.S. dealers, albeit) and we hadn't been looking for shipments elsewhere. But again, it just makes sense that they would have vehicles destined for Canada clear customs at a Canadian port.

Has anyone in Canada checked for ships headed for the Port of Vancouver?

I just did Peter. There is one ship called Soo Shin that was in Shanghai on the 24th Dec. went to a few Korean ports now heading the new Westminster BC to arrive on the 18th of January. Although those dates don’t align with the latest vin view I go I have recieved I am crossing my fingers.

Those of us who have been obsessively watching vessels and ports both here and in the 2024 Nautilus FB Group (which I highly recommend to everyone here) have concentrated on the U.S. I don't think any of us assumed the cars would be shipped from Portland to Canada...we just didn't think about it.

Also, to that extent that we've been tracking vessels, the reason we were able to locate and track the vessels is that we had accumulated a lot of small pieces from various U.S. based members. So we had a lot of information, when pieced together, to locate the vessels. Not so much with Canada. Tim is the first vinview (or maybe 2nd) that I've seen related to Canada.

Tim, in terms of Port of Vancouver...according to my research the Port of Vancouver runs all the ports in the area including New Westminster. So perhaps that is why the map screen shows Vancouver as the destination even though in the fields it shows New Westminster. Is there a site for Canada (like there is for the U.S.) that shows import/customs information. For example, we have ImportInfo | Comprehensive United States Imports Database that allows us to search by many different criteria.

Hi AG, I have not seen any ships bound for Vancouver Canada. Quite a few were listed for Vancouver WA or enroute to Portland. I have not seen any Canadian import information. It may be a state secret!! I’ll have a look though.

Also keep looking at the Lincoln website. I didn't do that for my car until everyone started saying they got a 12/18 update (but didn't say what was updated). So at that point we were able to figure out it was the Glovis Chorus within a few hours. So if your car isn't on a vessel yet and you see another update, we should be able to figure it out. Most of the vessels that leave Shanghai are fairly easy to exclude if we have a narrow search criteria.

That’s the strange thing I found about the Lincoln Tracking site. I was sure on December 28 I saw the update change as status had changed to shipped with a date of December 27. A couple days ago the update on the tracking page change back from 28 to 27 December and has stated that way. I did check yesterday with dealer and although it says my order is “on the water”, vinview still showed location as sitting in the Port of Shanghai.
On another note I have been wondering how reliable the vessel finder website is. One example is that it has shown Platinum Ray ship stuck in the same place near Japan for weeks now. Colour me confused!!

So most of us had a ship date that was about 14 days from the build date but the car was still in the Ford factory parking lot. That was an official status change on the Lincoln site represented by the numbers at the top. Then there is the "update" field that shows a date. We noticed an update change on 12/18 which was the day the Glovis Chorus docked in Shanghai. But it's only because many were simply checking the site everyday.

The vessel tracker sites are accurate but many of them take a while to get updates. The location data that you get for free is terrestrial-based AIS information (which is more or less 46 miles from shore). The information provided in the data fields is more up to date than the maps. If you want a clearer picture of this go to Marine Vessel Traffic and put in the ship info. It provides the vessel's track and the date and time of the last reported position. For example, the Platinum Ray is near Japan on the map but that is based on a date of December 6th.

If you pay for satellite data you can get real time info. Vesselfinder offers a 24 hour plan for $10. It also unlocks many of the fields allowing you to do more detailed searches (for example, removes the limits on the numbers of ships listed at ports).

So if you wanted to pay for the plan you might be able to do enough sleuthing to figure it out. For example, voyage 072 means the 72nd voyage of the ship. So all the pieces you have might give you enough with the expanded search capability to figure it out.

I think vinview runs a little slow on the map view. I would check again Monday and you should have a location on the water. The more information you can get the easier it is to do detective work.

[EDIT: What @agogley said.☝️]

Most of those websites do not show current data. They are delayed a few days, a week, or multiple weeks. Also, most exclude satellite tracking and the last reported position will be the terrestrial tracking available near land. I don't know why that site hadn't updated Platinum Ray after it was state-side, although it is back near Japan traveling west past the southern tip right now.

You'll also see sites with old ETA estimates. One that I track just showed Glovis Chorus was delayed 12 hours (but still due on the 11th). But I can't be sure if that ETA update was from today, 3 days ago, or when.

I use 2-3 websites just to pull together pieces of information that are fairly current.

FYI- I ordered a cargo mat for the vehicle back around Black Friday as Lincoln had a 25% off deal. Not too much better than 3rd party pricing, but I knew my wife wanted one anyway.

It shipped today! Suddenly, I feel like this whole Nautilus thing might actually happen. 😳

The dealer has promised all weather mats and rear cargo mat in the deal I made. I have it in writing so it better be delivered with the Nautilus!

All-weather mats? Isn't that for those people who get snow all year-round?

Oh…excuse me.

😂 Or in my case, lots of rain. My mats in my Acura got musty because they were always wet from the rain. So I got all weather mats for all my cars now including this one. Never going back because they're way easier to clean.
