Good morning. A couple of years ago, I needed new shocks and my mechanic replaced the rear ones with regular shocks because he felt the cost to replace with the air ride shocks (obviously I have no idea what I'm talking about, but bear with me) was ridiculous. He said it wouldn't hurt anything and it was fine with me. After that, the compressor for the air ride sensor (?) would come on periodically, even if the truck was not running. Naturally, it would not come when I wanted him to hear it, so I just lived with it. I had a blow out while turning into a parking lot with a brand new Kumho tire and after that was fixed, the air ride sensor stopped running. Fast forward to this summer when I had to get new tires. Now the stupid compressor is running loudly off and on while driving and also while the truck is parked. My question is, can this be disabled since I don't have the air ride shocks or does it still have a function? It is really driving me crazy, it is so loud now and comes on more often than it stays off.
Speaking of Kumho tires, am I the only one who thinks they are cheap crap? My last set ROTTED (new in 2015 with two replaced a couple of years later due to issues - see above) so I had to get new tires. I drive back and forth to work every day, not far, but still it's not like the truck was just sitting and not being driven. I did not have 30,000 miles on those tires. Anyway, the guys at Hibdon's said it would be okay to use a slightly larger, much better tire instead - a size that would always be available in the case of an issue, unlike the Kumho which had to be ordered with a few days' wait. These are 1/4-inch taller and 1/2-inch wider than the Kumhos. Has anyone else done this? Have you had any problems? I ask because now I have a "squeak" and I'm not sure where it is coming from, but it seems to be in the back around the rear driver's side tire/axle.
Lastly, about that tonneau cover. Has anyone tried this?

I have not tried it, but they seem to be the only ones who can/will do this. I have not found anyone locally. My mechanic did his best and it would work for a day or two, then stop. As I understand it, you have to remove the module, send it to them, they fix it and send it back, then you have it re-installed. Does it seem unusually expensive?

Is your Lincoln Blackwood Tonneau cover not working? Module Master may be able to repair your Cover Module and save you the cost of a replacement. Five year warranty on all rebuild work.
