My dealer and Lincoln Concierge refused to buy and install these missing rear fender liner parts. They claimed its normal, that's how the cars are assembled now. (I gave them some strong verbal feedback on all this cost cutting.)
So I made my own for the very sloppy right rear; left rear is not so loose so I'll let it be for now.
Not perfect and won't win a beauty contest from underneath but it should get the job done reasonably well for winter snow.
To answer this question, assuming it is about the pre-delivery of a new vehicle. Based on what this used to be generally make sure the vehicle is good to goWhat dose the dealer prep fee actually do?
Update from dealer. Their top guy, 40 years as tech, took a close look at a few Corsairs and did some online research.
The GT is different from the ICE Corsairs. On the GT passenger rear, there is a black cylinder cooling fan. Tech thinks adding a cover might block fan from cooling properly. As far as loose wire touching exhaust, solved by zip tying higher up.
On GT drivers side, the heat shield is protecting a plastic container. Cannot add to fender liner because heat shield blocks access to potential securing points.
While I don't like the answers, I think he knew what he was talking about. He definitely wasn't trying to sluff it off. He wanted to know what was correct and make it right. I'll have to go back over the threads on this and see the knowledge base again.
Was your dealer able to obtain and install the parts? If so, are they the same part numbers provided in this thread? Thanks! My dealer tried to tell me the same. They had my wife's GT on the lift and had me come walk into the shop and look at another on a nearby lift to show me it was "normal" since they were both the same. So, I took a walk out into their new vehicle lot and found 3 sitting there, all with the correct parts installed. I took a pic on my phone and walked back to the service dept. The advisor let out an interesting "Oh" and said she would have the correct parts ordered.
Nice work with the homemade remedy. My driver's side is good, but the passenger side is missing. The wiring was not close to the exhaust like others have reported, and it is very snug.My service manager advised that the passenger side is missing on all 2023 and is unavailable.
I converted a plastic license plate to cover the missing section on the passenger side.
As luck would have it I was only missing two screws on the divers side.
Hope the photos help.
Just came back from a 1200 mile trip where I visited 3 different Lincoln dealers in two states. They all said the parts have been discontinued and will probably never show up if ordered. My 22 GT has parts missing on both driver and passenger sides, I wasn't too concerned till I looked closer on the passenger side and noticed there is a fairly thick wiring harness (12 volt battery wires?) that has a connector right near the exhaust pipe that has melted a bit. Nor sure if the connector can be disconnected anymore due to the melting. The "missing parts" being referred to have a heat shield that would have prevented this from happening. Looks like a trip to the service department is in order, I'll bring the pictures and parts list numbers with me and see if I can get them to add at least the passenger side parts.
Yeah, I’d take off one on the pass side, take it to the hardware store or a local Ford dealer, get the identical part, and install it.Ok so I'm not alone. Picked up my factory ordered 2023 reserve with tow hitch. Driver side rear fender area is floppy (accidentally kicked it trying to use foot to open/close the liftgate). Passenger side is fine from what I can tell. Pics attached. Missing a screw from the driver side (bolt? I'm not handy at all!). Can I just pick one up at a hardware store? I don't want to go to the dealer - 45 miles, over an hour away. Thanks! View attachment 18950View attachment 18951View attachment 18952
Since I'm not handy at all, I was a bit nervous but I guess I can do that without killing myself or blowing something up!! Thanks for the suggestion. that does seem the simplest, quickest solution.Yeah, I’d tale off one on the pass side, take it to the hardware store or a local Ford dealer, get the identical part, and install it.
