2023 Corsair orders, build dates

Just heard back from my dealer. My VIN does not come up in OASIS for the fire recall. Whew! And as a bonus, he said the sytem is now showing delivery tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

This only applies to the GTs…still no word though on my reserve
Please let us know where you got this info. It confirms what I posted as a guess in post 1.477.

It is in the description under Subject in the recall notice. Only 2.5 PHEV vehicles.
Thanks, I missed this. I still don't have a build date so will they keep building GT until there is a solution. I tried to check with God by she had no idea.

Hi AJ. If I understand your question correctly...According to the notice posted by Denis Desrochers in post #1469, the issue/problem was addressed and corrected as of 5/12/23.
So assuming that information is correct, the problem has already been addressed and corrected, and it is not something to worry about for those still waiting for Build Dates.

If I misunderstood your question, my apologies.

Good luck.

This is my understanding also. They have found a build solution and have implemented it starting on May 12th.
They just need to come up with a retrofit solution for those already built.

Yes, you understand my question correctly. I hope you are correct, and it is not that they don't have a solution and just suspended production of the PHEV cars on those dates. With a background in corporations and having worked with a lot of politicians, I have learned how things can be worded to be correct and look great but at the same time hide the real situation. Trust but verify.

Just checked it and my 23 GT coming in is good. Our 22 GT is listed for this recall.

No it wouldn't. They must have addressed the issue for the new builds as the recall for the Corsair only includes vehicles built up to May 11th and there has been many others built since then (mine included). If this is the case, the issue will be how do they retrofit a fix. I'm waiting for my dealer to get back to me with an OASIS lookup on my VIN.
Where is your car? Has it been built yet?

My Corsair on order is not affected (not a GT), but my son's 23 Ford Escape Hybrid on order may be. How do you interpret the recall notice? Is the problem:
  1. There is a manufacturing defect in the engine itself that may cause premature failure, and if that happens, it may cause a fire? -OR-
  2. There is there no known manufacturing defect in the engine, but if it did have a catastrophic failure, due to lack of shielding it may cause a fire?
To me #1 is much worse than #2 since it directly affects the longevity and resale value of the vehicle. The only way I would take delivery is if they replaced the engine with a new one, and I would be leary about that if the work was done correctly. On the other hand, if it is #2 I find it hard to believe they would need to stop deliveries until 4Q2023. A catastrophic internal engine failure is almost unheard of nowadays until you get a lot of miles on the car.

I got very lucky. My 23 GT I picked up last night 5/31 was built 5/15… 4 days outside of the stop sale date. I wonder if anyone knows exactly what fix they took on 5/11 to the new units?

This is good news. 👍 Thanks

Hi AJ. I think you have already found this out from others, but just to be sure: It was/is a stop-sale order for GT's produced up to 5/11. Those produced before and up to 5/11 can not be sold until properly repaired.

It was/is not a stop-production order. Production has not been suspended, and GT's are still being scheduled and produced.

Good luck. 🍻

I’m sure Lincoln is not the only one that’s having or going to have problems with Hybrids. Everyone is pushing out this new technology to keep up with the joneses. It’s still in its infancy. For me I’m glad I’m gas lol

Yes, we all know you’re gassy…. ;)

My 23 iGT was shipped on May 22. The dealer said it is scheduled to be delivered to them tomorrow.
Hope you’re not included in the Stop Sale recall! Let us know!

No, I'm good. The dealer checked (as did I on the recall web page).
