2023 Corsair orders, build dates

I believe that dealers can change codes between 10-99 as long as the vehicle order is still unscheduled. Perhaps I misunderstood if yours was already scheduled or not.

Peter

Pretty sure once at priority code 2 no changes are allowed. Dealer would have to request said order put back to a 10. Make changes and wait again to move up to a 2. Once scheduled for build it is what it is.

Hi gang. A short version with only the important details: Dealer assigned Priority codes for vehicles (with a hope of production) are essentially 10-19. Anything after 19 pretty much means you better ask the Dealership why my vehicle is on some sort of hold (other than commodity holds we are now experiencing).

And Priority coded or 1-9 are reserved for assignment by Ford Regional and Ford Corporate headquarters. These are assigned by them in special cases, such a order errors, vehicle buybacks, if your last name is Ford, etc. ;)

Good luck. 🍻

Hi oldbudweiser guy. No, that is not how Priority codes area assigned or work. The Priority Code of a vehicle does not move down the line from 10 to 9 to 8...to 2 to 1 etc., during scheduling.

Unless requested by a Dealer or Ford Corporate, the Priority Code stays the same from Day 1 when the order is placed, to the day the vehicle is delivered.

Vehicles do not move down in Priority code from the date ordered unit the date of production. A Priority code is a Priority Code and has no bearing on when changes can be made or are cut-off, etc.

Good luck.

Hi ob. If that is the case, your Dealer and Ford Corporate changed the Priority for one reason or another.

However, Priority Codes are not steps in the order/scheduling/production process. And factory ordered vehicles do not move down the Priority Code levels as they get closer to production. This is well known information.

Unless there is an issue sometime after an order is placed, most vehicle never change Priority Code.

Either way, your Priority code did not move down due to the vehicle moving closer to production, as though each Priority Code is a step closer to production (they are not). The Priority Code of your order was changed for some other reason.

Good luck. 🍻

If "worthless in moving this along" refers to the change in priority, that is something only Lincoln can do. Dealers have no control over that.

Peter

Hello @peterk9 — I'm sorry that you misunderstood my comment. I tried to be as clear as I could. I NEVER said the Dealer had any control of changing the Priority. In fact, I specifically said (in this case) "my dealership was worthless..." As I already said: "I have to give credit to the Lincoln Concierge for staying on top of this. Among other things, she got my Priority 16 moved to Priority 2." The Lincoln Concierge is NOT the Dealer. My Priority was changed by the Lincoln Regional Manager. To be clear, the Lincoln Regional Manager is NOT the Dealer.

I hope this helps. If not, let me know. I'll try to explain it further.

Lincoln Concierge is awesome. They’ve helped me a number of times. There are many things they can do above and beyond what a dealer can do. I have nothing but good things to say about them !

Yet another production delay email from Lincoln:
"We have made an adjustment to the production date for your 2023 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring.
Your new Lincoln is now scheduled to be built the week of February 13, 2023. We will continue to keep you informed regarding your vehicle’s production status."

Thank you.

For what it's worth, my 2023 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring order was reset to Priority 2 by the Lincoln Regional Manager — it had been Priority 16 — and my build week is currently February 27. The VIN, the Priority Reset, and the Build Week were all revealed within one message from the Lincoln Concierge this past Thursday (January 12).

Good things come to those who wait lol. Or so they say. They still don’t have the software available yet for the seat belt recall. Dealer told me. I still think that’s part of it. Also everyone jumps on the “supply chain issue” thing these days. Not only cars it’s everything. In my opinion…..no one wants to work anymore and only 4 day work weeks because of the pandemic bull crap!

Similar note, pushed from week of 1-30-23 to 2-6-23.

Looked at window sticker again. That has not changed. Kinda expecting to see the sub delete.

Ditto for my wife's 2023 Corsair Reserve (previously scheduled to be built week of 23-Jan-2023):

"We have made an adjustment to the production date for your 2023 Lincoln Corsair Reserve.

Your new Lincoln is now scheduled to be built the week of February 6, 2023. We will continue to keep you informed regarding your vehicle’s production status.

Thank you."

My dealer told me they got the fix over a week ago and did 27 cars in one day. Now they have none on hold due to the seat belt issue. And the truth is???????????????????

Maybe they did who knows ? Dealer in jersey said they don’t even know what the fix is yet so they haven’t done any. Maybe bigger dealers got it first ?

My dealer said it was a simple software update.

Would make sense. Just has to change how long the seat belt thing torments you lol. I always wear my seat belt. I tell people that don’t would you go on a fast maybe violent ride in a theme park without your seat belt ? A car accident without one can be bad or worse !

Kinda funny different experiences or life events. Myself I use to drink water from a garden hose, play army by shooting each other with BB guns, actually owned cars with no seatbelts, never wore a helmet on a bike, raced go-karts with only WW2 tank helmet from army surplus, no roll bar, no seat belt, riding mini bikes all over the neighborhood, lighting M-80's in my fingers and throwing as far a I could.
Guess Im lucky not to be more brain damaged than I am..lol. Oh my neighbors loved me......

Now a days some of that kinda play would warrant a swat team.

Check your chime. I just did and it does the multi-tone bong sound for 5 or so repeats lasting about 5 seconds. Then repeats again after a slight delay. I'm wondering if the 22251 Sync update addressed it? I don't remember exactly what it was prior to the 22251 update. BTW I have the hi-end Revel system.

Thanks.

just out of curiosity, how does one get on these email lists regarding order status? I tried calling the Concierge and all they were able to do is look up the VIN and say "yup your order is processing" couldn't even give expected build date. Wasn't much help at all. My dealership did send me an email a few weeks ago with my order # and VIN and said (at the time) that production date for mine would be the week of 2/20.
Im just not sure if that is still the case? When I try to track on the website its stuck on #1 order processing and when I click on window sticker it says to check back later. Any other insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
Just a quick update. After ordering a Reserve early September on the morning the order banks opened, all I have received was an email thanking me for my order and one in early December stating that due to supply constraints..... Blah blah blah. That's it! Dealer has been no help. Concierge no help. I have no vin. No date. Nothing. I will give Lincoln until the end of February to at least provide me a build date. If not I will be cancelling my order and going elsewhere. Highly disappointed in the company itself and it's lack of information. I do not blame the dealership or the Concierge as they only can provide the information, or lack there of, provided to them. One day they will actually be asking for our business again and have to work for it. There's my rant! Ha!
