Just picked up a 2020 nav, liking it so far. However, just noticed, the USB port is not reading my USB stick. Wanted to ask before i bring it to the dealer, Anyone have this happen to them?

What was the issue?

Action

It'd really finicky. I will probably take it back to the dealer for replacement, but any small motion will disconnect the device connected to it. Upon startup I pull it out and reinsert, but I don't want to have to keep doing that.

It might be the stick. You should try it with another USB stick and see if it continues to happen.

I did switch the sticks. It'll play, it's just finicky. I was listening to music on it, my wife put a cup in the cup holder, and it stopped as if the truck couldn't read the stick. Had to reinsert it, and it worked fine after. After every cycle, I have to reinsert for it to read it.

Btw, does anyone know if the truck will read a USB stick or a cord for android auto using the rear console USB ports?

Hi dl. To my knowledge, the rear ports are charging only.

Good luck.

Dang that's a bummer. Idk why ford thinks it's ok to give it biggest fam vehicles one USB port and one USB c port in the front. It should come with atleast 2 of the regular and one of the c like in ma y other fam vehicles. oh well.

Hi dl. In this case, since I can not 100% verify "my knowledge", it would not hurt to try one of the rear USB ports. Just in case.

I could be wrong. Just ask my wife. 🙃

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

I believe that Android Auto / Apple Carplay only responds to the front USB inputs.
