My Lincoln
2017 Reserve 2.7 AWD
2.7 Ecoboost, seems to only happen on cold days and it only lasts a few seconds after cold start. Anyone else have this experience? I'm just wondering if this is normal for the 2.7 or potentially something very bad for the engine.

Cold belts and pulleys that goes away after a few seconds. Normal On most cars.

Hi Bryce and welcome to the Lincoln Forums. While blind Internet diagnosis has definite limits..Squeaking/squealing on startup is usually (but not always) a serpentine/drive belt problem. Have the belt/belts checked.

If you or an automotive inclined/car nut friend can not identify the source (open the hood, one listen, the other start the vehicle), you should probably have it looked at by the Service Department at your Lincoln Dealership (if still within the New Car Bumper to Bumper Warranty or Powertrain Warranty). Or if out of warranty, have it checked by an independent shop/tech you trust.

And obviously, check all fluid levels. Oil, transmission fluid etc.

That would be my best advice.

Keep us updated and good luck.

my 2020 navigator has what sounds like a fan belt squeal upon starting on a cold start (not cold outside, I live in Houston) just first start of the day... lincoln service is trying to tell me it's because a heater hose is leaking... and they want $1200 to replace a hose???? sounds like a classic fan belt squeal to me that goes away after a few seconds of operation
