Anyone else seeing the message "Something went wrong. Please try again later" on the app? It shows up when I select the Vehicle option. Weird thing is the app still allows me to update. But that message will not go away. It didn't start happening until I updated the app to the latest version. I am using the ios version of the app.

Hi moose. Could be a temporary glitch with the LincolnWay app system. Not a common issue but does happen sometimes. Give it some time, then try again later.

If it continues, you can try deleting the app from your phone, reinstalling, signing back in etc.

If that does not work, give Lincoln Concierge a call.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

That app is pretty much useless....lol

Hi jkeaton. While personal experiences and preferences certainly can vary, I actually find the LincolnWay app very useful.

Good luck my friend.

Wow...

I use the app often. I am getting the same error message when I click on the Vehicle tab but all the data appears to be correct on the Vehicle tab. Apple is releasing iOS 15 this week so it could be related to that. I'm using the latest version of the Lincoln Way app 3.30.0.

At least half the time I use my phone, or try to, as PAAK, the bluetooth does not connect. When the app itself tells you the best results are when you have the app open and your phone in your hand, well, what is the point of PAAK?

Hi BL. Just for context: The LincolnWay app and PAAK features are separate/different. I was only referring to the LincolnWay app.

I can not comment on PAAK, as it was not available on the MKZ in my model year. I don't think it ever was an available MKZ feature, since the model was being discontinued.

I can also comment that when I see BMW commercials (and I also believe possibly Hyundai commercials?) showing their phone apps, the phone must be tapped on the door handle, so that is not any better/convenient than the Lincoln PAAK "phone in hand/app open" advisory.
And I would think that any such automotive app would need to be open on the phone for it to work, from any manufacturer. If an app is closed, it is inactive.

Just some thinking out loud here.

Good luck.

I don't know. PAAK is set up through the Lincoln way app and functions using the app. I don't actually have any issues with the app features such as unlocking, etc.

Maybe BMW owners et al have an issue with something every once in a while. The PAAK as well as the rest for he software related to Sync 3, Ford, Lincoln, whatever, just almost always has something that does not function correctly.

Obviously I just got a lemon, thus the buyback status on mine.

Hi BL. That was my point. Yes, PAAK is set up through LincolnWay, but the core LincolnWay functions work fine for you. But PAAK is a separate function, which you are having issues with.

I am not downplaying your issues (or those of others having issues). Only trying to put them into context for a guy who is very grumpy right now. ;)

Good luck.

I found this guide online. It explains how PAAK functions in conjunction with the rest of the app functions. But I agree, PAAK is not as reliable or as fast as I'd like it to be.

Probably on the newer models where you can control certain functions on the vehicle from the app it woud be useful? (remote start, lock/unlock doors, etc) I don't have those functions. It only offers me an electronic owners manual, service schedules and recommends dealers for service.

It's great for me when I return from a flight in winter and can start the vehicle early to warm it up. If it functions properly, that is.

Hi jkeaton. Yes, the newer the vehicle, the more features LincolnWay app offers. For example, while my 2018 MKZ does not have PAAK, it does have remote start, scheduled starts, remote lock/unlock, locate your vehicle via GPS, locate your vehicle via lights/horn, etc.

Good luck.

I have been enjoying PAAK and have been learning to get accustomed to the time (quite a few seconds) my phone communicates with my ‘21 GT via BLE. Sometimes it’s instantaneous, sometimes it takes a while for them to talk to each other. But all the time, my phone stays in my pocket.

BL, I believe the available LincolnWay commands (unlock, start, lock) are sent from your LW app to the Lincoln Connect server, then to your vehicle via the modem (AT&T if I’m not mistaken). Depending on reception integrity, sometimes the commands do not reach your vehicle (sometimes when you get the “Lincoln Way is not responding” message). A workaround for that is to create a Scheduled Departure (not sure if this is a PAAK-only feature), which once sent to your vehicle, it will execute even with or without a modem connection.

I haven’t been bringing my key fob with me at all anymore.

Hi Vicrey. Just as an FYI: Scheduled Starts/"Scheduled Departure" via the LincolnWay app are not a PAAK only feature. I can schedule starts in my 2018 MKZ using the LincolnWay app, and my MKZ does not have PAAK capability. No MKZ's did.

Good luck.

Speaking of added features, FYI, my Nautilus got an OTA update to it’s Sync 4 system that included SecuriAlert, a feature that notifies you if your car is opened in any way. Version 3.29 of the LW app also enables this feature, it is added to the Vehicle screen on your phone. I have not used it yet, but it could be useful in higher crime areas, which is just about everywhere these days.

That’s nice! It’s always good to know when your vehicle has been breached so you can take immediate action. I hope they bring that feature to us SYNC 3.4 folks. I can’t think of a reason they can’t implement it (via Wi-Fi update) since all newer Lincolns have a modem anyway.
