Anyone else notice they changed the Satellite Radio Antenna from a flat puck to the Shark Fin style? Anyone know why?

Cheaper costs?

Hi Eurythmian. Could be any/all of the reasons mentioned by others above.

The other possibility, which I am not sure of at all, is whether a Continental is equipped with the Panoramic Roof or not. I have read anecdotal stories that those with the Panoramic Roof had the puck (to clear the roof being opened?), while those not equipped with the Panoramic Roof would be equipped with the sharkfin. But even that seemed to vary by model year.

I would assume to possible solve the mystery, someone here with the Panoramic Roof can let you know what antenna they have, and another with no Panoramic Roof can let you know what they have?

Or...it may just be one of those mysteries of life? ;)

Good luck

I have the 2020 pano and a fin.

The fin seems to be a 2018 model innovation. See previous discussion in Shark Fin .

Why?? Now that's another question.

Car makers are famous for coming out with cars that are continuously refined by reducing costs to the manufacturer. I suspect that is the reason for this "improvement." It does look cooler though.
