Hey guys, ive got a 2004 Navigator Ultimate with just over 120k miles and im having a few issues with it. First off, the transmisson has really delayed, hard shifts most of the time. Ive done a little digging around online and am starting to suspect the shift solenoids are sticking and need replaced, as that seems to be a fairly common problem on these 4R100 transmssions. Is there an easy way to test weather or not its the solenoids?
My 2nd problem, as the title says, It will not accelerate above about 60-65mph. I not sure if this is related to the transmission problem, or if its something with the engine i cant really tell. But once i get up to that speed, it will be at about 3500-4000rpm and just sounds like its giving it everything its got, but just will not accelerate. This is even more pronounced when going up a hill.
Some things i have done so far is replaced the spark plugs, cleaned the MAF sensor with specific MAF sensor cleaner, checked transmission fluid it seems to be at the correct level and looks pretty new its not dark or burnt at all. Any ideas what could be the cause of these 2 problems?
