I have tried EVERYTHING to get my old power steering pump of my 1969 Lincoln Mark III. I put it on last year and it slide right on the cam shaft and now that it has died and I bought a new one to replace it... I can't get the old pump off. I have removed these pumps in the past and they just slide right off once unbolted. But not this time. Using a pulley puller I got to as far as the end of the camshaft (see pictures attached) but it will go no further. I have tried 4 different types of pulley pullers and everything. The pressure becomes so great that the bolts of the puller break! and I bought extra strong bolts. Do you have any suggestions or ideas as to why my old pump would be stuck on the shaft the way it is? Or any suggestions on how to get it off??
