Just to give you an idea of what you are driving value wise I came across this very similar car. 2001 with 9k miles same color ect. Sold for $19,500.00 if it had normal mileage for year it would have sold for 2,000.00 so due to the condition and mileage the value is tremendous. I bet a collector bought it.

i just noticed this car has a moon/sun roof, and heated seats, which mine does not.
 
Glad to hear you're driving it, 'cause that was my vote! It is what it was made to do, you'll both derive pleasure in it and it's better for the car. Using it as an "occasional" ride, keeping it in the garage when not being driven, maintaining it well both esthetically and mechanically, and keeping the miles low over a long period of time will help keep the value up. Enjoy!
 
alright guys, now that im using the car everyday. how often should i get an oil change, 3000/5000? just wondering what you guys do with your Town Car. ;)

also my new commute is only 10 miles a day, that is round trip.
 
I usually change oil on all my cars at or near the 3,000 mile mark. My daily commute is a 78 mile round trip, so the oil changes tend come along rather quickly. LOL!

That's great that you are driving it, I bet it's a blast.

also would it be easy to add a cd unit to the stock stereo system? it says NO CDDJ, when i press the CD button. Also where would I install the CD unit?

You might want to look at your owner's manual on this. If the stereo head has a CD button, but no CD player, it may have a 6-disk CD changer in the trunk. The one in my '03 is located in the trunk on the left (driver's) side, I assume that's where yours would be too.

Do you have covered parking at home and work for the car? Hopefully you do, because if you don't, I bet it will show weather damage faster than a new car because of the age of the plastics, rubbers, and leathers.

at home it is in the garage.

at work it is out in the open :( maybe i should get a car cover for when at work.

Don't freak out about this tomorrow, but keep it in mind for the next few months...
1) Plastics & rubbers.
Although since this car has probably seen few UV rays in it's day thus far, I really doubt the rubber & plastics are in peril, yet it wouldn't hurt to give these items a once-over with some decent products.
Myself, I rely heavily on Mequiars stuff. :)

2) Leather.
Leather can dry out much faster than plastic & rubber. I would recommend these guys over any other out there; http://www.leatherique.com/

This car has 14 year old paint...and even though it's been stored indoors most of it's life, there are two concerns...
A) It's SILVER!
B) It's clear coated silver. :)
C) Silver (clear coated or not) is troublesome.

If that car was under my wing, I would live by the letter of the law from; http://www.meguiars.com/en/automotive/products/
Start with a good wash, then use the clay bar cleaner. Followed with a polish & machine carnuba wax. I use a random-orbit wax machine, for almost non-existant swirl marks. Not that swirl marks are even a problem with silver paint. LOL The clay bar alone is a huge eye-opener pertaining to the crap stuck in your paint!
If you have questions after reading my post, or the Meguiar's site (I know there's too much info there), let me know. I have a few years experience on this subject. :)

as for the cd changer, i would assume it just doesn't have a cd changer it would seem i would think. but i haven't look anywhere else other than the trunk.

thanks for all the tips. i have a lot of research ahead of me. ;)

also as for claying the car, luckily ive clayed my chrysler 300, so i know how amazing of a job it does once done. :D
