Hello everybody, I am here in behalf of my mother and her many navigator problems. At the moment it is a fuel pump problem. We have replaced the fuel pump sending unit, fuel pump relay, fuel filter, reset inertia switch, and replaced fuel pump fuse in the number 10 position, even tried a 30a fuse in case it was just pulling a little extra power. Every time the key is turned on to start the truck, it blows the fuse. The truck is a 2002 Navigator. Also this problem started the day after it was taken to a mechanic that seemed honest. He had replaced both front struts for her. Thanks for any replies, hopefully we can get her on the road soon.

Just to confirm, you replaced the pump AND the sending unit, or just the sending unit?
If you haven't replaced the pump itself, that could be the problem. Although I haven't heard of a bad pump blowing fuses, I can't say it's impossible.

If this all started after your mechanic worked on the vehicle, it sounds like he may have inadvertanly pinched a power wire, causing a direct short to ground.
