Hello, hopefully someone with knowledge or experience with this car could please help me out.

Scenario-- Noticed my Wife's Lincoln dripped oil in the garage. i took off the plastic underneath the car and noticed a decent amount on the engine near the oil pan. i tried finding a picture of said area. Last night I cleaned the area and tried tightening some bolts in the general area. I will check to see if it is still leaking tonight. If anyone has had a similar experience, please share with me. Help me narrow down this problem. Thank you

Hi jr,

Seems like a premature oil leak. That car is just a baby still. My guess is whoever changed the oil last left the oil filter or drainplug too loose. The only way to pinpoint the leak would be to power wash the engine so it is clean and then run the car and bring it back home to inspect.

I had the same problem with my zephyr when i changed the oil and a friend of mine said i have to take off the plastic piece before changing the oil or oil will get onto the plastic and it'll look like its leaking oil when its just dripping off of the plastic.

Thanks for the response. I have taken the plastic off underneath the car and have cleaned the area three times now. It is a very small amount of oil leaking. I had a buddy come over who is a certified mechanic and he verified that it is the oil pan gasket. I am going to keep an eye on the oil level and wait till it warms up Little to tackle the gasket. I appreciate the responses I have gotten on the matter. Thanks guys !
