Tried this feature for the first time yesterday and really liked it. To take your feet off the brake during stop-and-go traffic and have the car hold itself in place is a nice perk.

However, I'm going to stop using this feature as I have this fear I will get so used to it that if I drive someone else's vehicle I'll take my foot off the brake as well.

Anyone else using this feature and has the same concerns?

I don't use it in traffic, but where I've found it is great is at a drive-thru (e.g., Chick-Fil-A, Starbucks, Burger King, Bank, Pharmacy, Margarita Stand, etc.). I turn it on when I get there, then off when I leave. Since you move about 1 car length every minute or so, it's nice to just push the brake and have the car hold itself until you touch the gas again.

That might be the compromise I'm looking for. Keep it off most of the time but for those moments when in a waiting line of cars, it becomes very handy. Thanks.

I keep it on all the time, except when I'm in stop-and-go traffic, though for me that's quite rare. I don't worry about accidentally removing my foot from the brake in someone else's car. You can *feel* the car moving if you release brake pressure on a car without auto-hold.

I do quite like the auto-hold, as it addresses my biggest complaint of automatic transmission cars (that you can feel the car moving if you release brake pressure). This is my first automatic transmission car.

I like it on the hills of San Francisco, but edging the last few inches into the garage I find it lurches. I like that the dash button makes it convenient to turn on and off.

I use it all the time on both my vehicles. Only interesting thing about the aviator side is that its auto on compared to like my continental where I have to press the button to enable it. Also it hidden in a menu is that the same on the cosair side?

Hi NJRonbo. I use it once in a while with my newer MKZ.

It was not an available feature on my older MKZ, but I have no worries about mixing things up.

Good luck.

I'm mixed. I have to turn it off when I go through a touchless car wash that doesn't have tracks. Some days in the city, I feel it's not fast enough to release from a full stop at a set of lights. But it's nice those days when you are stop and go.

I love the auto-hold. Honda was lot grabbier.

I really like this feature. I use it mostly at drive up windows.

It’s an excellent feature, but you are correct about being mindful when switching vehicles! I’ve had a high pucker factor a couple times going back to driving my F150

I sold my two other cars to get this one so I won’t be driving another car but I will be mindful of that . It could be a real underwear challenge at times! Ha!

Tried its few times, not a fan. Don’t like it when inching into my garage parking spot. Without it you can creep with the brake pedal and not have to hit the gas pedal.

I used this feature for a while at first, but then turned it off. It made for some slightly jerky starts as it seemed to resist my pushing on the accelerator until it finally let go a little too abruptly for my liking. However, after reading through this thread, now I'm going to give it another try.

IMHO, it should not be left ON all the time. When you need maximum control of the vehicle like going into a parking space, that's the time to turn it OFF.

If I press the accelerator gently, the vehicle launches gently.

I had it on all pretty much all the time, including when parking, though I usually back into a parking space (auto-hold doesn't apply in reverse). Much easier to back *in* than to back *out*. I turned it off for car washes, and at times in stop-and-go traffic. I don't think I needed to turn it off even for parallel parking. It's really not very difficult to get it to release gently. I much prefer the auto-hold to having the car lurch forward every time I lighten pressure on the brake pedal.

Interesting, my 2016 MKX still applies the auto-hold feature (if its engaged) while in reverse???

I use it 24/7. I dont know what you all reference with the slight jerking.

I find that the auto-hold and the distance setting work together.
