Just wondering that Lincoln warranty is including oil change, 10,000 miles , 20,000 miles maintaining? Or we have to purchase different warranty?

Hi Jason. Your question is a bit confusing, so perhaps you can rephrase it?

In the meantime, I'll give it a shot: The Lincoln New Vehicle Bumper to Bumper Warranty is 4 years/50,000 miles. The Powertrain Warranty is 6 years/70,000 miles.

Neither of those warranties covers oil changes or other required/regular maintenance.

The Lincoln recommended OCI (Oil Change Interval) is 1 year/10,000 miles, whichever comes first. There is also an IOLM (Intelligent Oil Life Monitor), which keeps track of vehicle use/environment/time/mileage etc., and will notify the driver when it is time for an oil change. Or a vehicle owner can change earlier if they wish to.

All of this is explained in the Owners Manual. If you do not have your hard copy, you can download the PDF version here: https://www.fleet.ford.com/parts-service/resources/owner-manuals/

If you want to purchase an LincolnProtect Extended Service Plan, you can do so. According to which level plan you purchase, it will extend the warranty on covered components, but does not cover maintenance. It can be a good investment if you plan on keeping your vehicle past the Bumper to Bumper and Powertrain warranties. You can find information and pricing for Lincoln ESP's here: Lincoln Protect Extended Service Plans (ESP) - Lincoln Extended Warranty Cost | Zeigler Ford ESP

You can also purchase a LincolnCare Maintenance Plan. Personally, I don't feel they are worth it for most drivers, since it is easier and less expensive for most drivers to pay for maintenance as they go.

If that information does not address your question/questions, provide more information and we can try again.

Good luck.

Thank you. Everything clear now. I purchased plantinum ( mechanical breakdown) of CENTRAL STATES PROTECTION PLANS, Inc from the dealer when I bought new car. So, my question is that one and the one you mentioned ESP are different or they are the similar
Thanks again

I believe black label also covers some if the initial maintenance, but at once every 10k / yr it hardly seems worth the extra cost.

Hi Jason. My personal opinion, through experience: Third party extended warranties and maintenance plans are rarely worth the money. If you can cancel and obtain a refund, I would recommend you do so.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

It’s too late to cancel that because in the agreement they said the cancellation can be done in 60 days. Now, its 10months already :((. So sad to realize that is third party and not from Lincoln. The dealer did not tell me that. He just showed me the extended warranty when I asked for. I thought that was from Lincoln ESP. He also forced me to purchase the environment vehicle protection for 6 years costs $1,800.

You are under no obligation to purchase anything extra from a dealer. If I dealer tried to "force" me to purchase something extra, I woud tell them to pound sand and walk away.

Jason,
Are you sure you are unable to cancel or terminate those warranties? I know some of those add-on warranties have cancellation periods where you can cancel and received a pro-rated refund, less an admin fee, for the remaining duration of the contract at the time of cancellation. You may want to read the fine print. Or better yet, call the toll-free number on the contract. If you are able to cancel, you may have the option of cancelling with the warranty provider. Or you may have to cancel with the dealership. Good luck.

I believe the most expensive place to buy an extended warranty from is the dealer.

Correct. Most people fail to realize the main sources of profit at a dealership is not on a new car, it is on all of the add-ons, parts/accessories, and service. Tons of mark-up in all of that stuff. If you must have a warranty and parts/accessories, more often than not, you can do way better that what your dealer has to offer. You just have to put some effort into it. If you don't spend the time and just take what the dealer has to offer, then you pay a hefty price. I learned that lesson back in the 80's when I was buying my first vehicle.

From a warranty protection standpoint, I would recommend changing the oil at any mileage point sooner than 10K miles if the IOLM so recommends. The age-old (IMHO obsolete) annual requirement of changes I personally will not oblige. I've been happy to see a few OEMs now abandoned that requirement with synthetic oils and go mileage base solely.

On a slightly related note (sorry for the tangent), I've been tracking the IOLM recommendations as we've owned our car. I am doing this more out of curiosity and as an intellectual exercise. On occasion I simply read the predicted oil life remaining and do the simple math. We had a lot of idling early on (reading and learning features, programming, etc.) so I think that's why the first data point was lower. The chart shows that our driving habits (which so far we'd call 'normal') are trending towards that 10K recommended interval. We've perhaps had a little more than 1/2 of the miles on the highway, and no towing (yet).

The Lincoln points we acquired in the purchase of the car are sufficient to pay for 2 1/2 oil changes or so; I'll likely do the first 3 changes at Lincoln (helps to establish the relationship). After that I'll do them on my lift with synthetic.

I concur. I have bought aftermarket plans and had (generally) good service; they are somewhat regulated in Florida. One ruthless company learned the hard way not playing 'nice' ball with me; I complained to the state of Florida Insurance Commissioner's office and local Chamber of Commerce. It got escalated quickly and they paid out as they should. These plans are technically 'insurance' and categorized sometimes as the 're-insurance' industry. Although not regulated like a traditional homeowner's policy, they state still has some clout and leverage. I'm not sure about all states however.

Hi jason. Sorry, I just noticed I did not completely answer your questions. No, the LincolnProtect ESP plans are the Lincoln/Ford factory Extended Warranty.
What you were sold, "Central States Protection Plan", is some sort of third party extended warranty, which I am sure made your Dealership a nice commission. Otherwise they would have offered you the LincolnProtect factory ESP Plan.

In my experience, you can get the best pricing for the LincolnProtect Plans from the Zeigler Auto Group website I linked to previously. Here is the link again: Lincoln Protect Extended Service Plans (ESP) - Lincoln Extended Warranty Cost | Zeigler Ford ESP

After extensive local Dealership and online price shopping for Lincoln ESP plans, Zeigler was always the lowest, and I purchased my Lincoln ESP's through them for my last 4 Lincolns.

And Flood Ford was usually second lowest in pricing. usually within ~$25: Ford Protect Sales - Geniune Ford ESP extended warranty

But in either case, they are far both lower than Lincoln/Ford Dealer pricing for LincolnProtect ESP Plans. By $1,000 or more.

You can obtain more price quotes by simply Googling "Lincoln ESP Plans", skipping past the paid ads at the top, and working up quotes at other online sellers.

I would carefully read the "Central States protection Plan" contract. As moose66 mentioned, you should be able to cancel for some sort of pro-rated refund. Perhaps the 60 day cancellation period you mentioned was only for a full refund? It is worth looking. Of course, with a third party contract, who knows.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

+1 for Zeigler

When I purchased my last vehicle (Dodge), they were known for great prices on extended OEM service contracts, so I skipped getting one at time of purchase of my vehicle, and bought the contract through email from them.

I think the contract cost was $2,200 for lifetime of the vehicle, and to date has covered me for about $5,500 repairs over 10 years, so it turned out to be a good buy.

Also, most service contracts stipulate you can cancel them for a prorated refund based on time and how much you have actually used of it.

Thanks, i already canceled that and just lost $400 for 10months (8500miles). Just wondering like did you guys purchase Lincoln ESP plan after 50,000 miles of Lincoln original warranty or before? Is it Lincoln original warranty still good enough?

Hi Jason. As mentioned previously, you must purchase the LincolnProtect ESP before the 4 year/50,000 mile New Vehicle Warranty expires.

Is it good enough? Well, there are three levels of LincolnProtect ESP Plans. Each offers varying coverage, with varying deductibles, time/mileage periods, optional coverage etc. etc.

Is it worth it? That all depends on an individuals situation and circumstances. I purchased the top level Lincoln Protect PremiumCare Plan. 8 year/75,000 miles coverage. $0 deductible. With Key and LED lighting optional coverage.

For me, with how long I keep my cars and baby them, yes it is worth it.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

Where can I find the Zeigler promo codes for maintenance and warrant? If anyone has them, could you share?

Hi Jasper. I am not aware of a promo code for the Zeigler ESP Plan site, although I have not looked lately either.

You can find the Zeigler Lincoln ESP Plan site here: Lincoln Protect Extended Service Plans (ESP) - Lincoln Extended Warranty Cost | Zeigler Ford ESP

I am sure another member will post a code, if they have one which is currently valid and applicable.

Good luck.
