Upgrading Navigation in my 2016 MKX???

Is upgrading the navigation in my 2016 MKX as simple as installing a new SD card??? I have the Sync 2 system.

It is if you kept your SYNC updated through Ford's web site. I believe that the last SYNC update was 3.10 many years back and I am using A14 maps. A15 is the last map updates that Ford made and will work with Sync 3.10

So would you recommend buying an A14 SD Card?

If your SYNC version is 3.10, then why not get the last map version A15. Careful where you buy, I've seen some of these that look like OEM Ford, but are aftermarket(China) that can only be used in one vehicle once 60 miles are driven. OEM Ford have no restriction and can be used in any SYNC 2 vehicle.

Lesson learned - "don't say I told you so", Amazon SD Card installed. Nav works and is updated, except you can't zoom-in to identify any street names... making the newly upgraded navigation useless! Cheaper is "more often then not" not better! Lesson learned. Sigh.
