My Lincoln
2019 Navigator Reserve / 2023 Aviator Black Label Special Edition
I've been a Ford guy all my life, cutting my teeth back in the '80s with a frame-off restoration my dad and me completed on a '68 Mustang. The first vehicle I owned was a '91 Ranger, dark blue. Maybe that explains my current Navigator - love the blue! Well the wife's Jag was getting long on the tooth, and maintenance support (beyond what I was willing to do) was getting more and more problematic.

So in the interest of fleet standardization, I talked my wife into an Aviator. As pleased as I have been with my Navigator, and working through the nuances associated with my Lincoln, I was confident the Aviator would not be a step back from her XJ, and would suit her just fine. I targeted the 2023-2024 range, ideally an off-lease vehicle, with the white exterior with black roof, and the tan interior. The only thing this didn't have was the full center console for the second row, but if we decide we can't live without it, I've already got the parts list on-hand.

We went with a 2023 Black Label Special Edition, with only 25k miles on the clock. She was very happy! I'll do the same minor modifications to this that I did to my Navigator: mud flaps, tinted front windows to match the rest of the factory tint, Weathertechs all around, and a wireless CarPlay adapter. Glad to be part of this community now as well!IMG_7482.webp
