Now that you mention it I looked at the Lincoln way app and yes. My wife is that work with the car so I will attempt an over the air update tonight. Past over the air updates have sometimes worked and also miserably failed resulting in a complete start over and using a USB stick. Hopefully that won't be the case this time…Did anyone else receive a Synch 3 update notice on their LincolnWay app today?
I’ll check mine shortly. Your thought is probably correct.I'm thinking they roll out updates a little at a time instead of a mass roll out. This would keep the servers from getting overloaded every time there is an update.
I just checked for an update via my VIN and it says I am up to date.
I checked for an over the air update while sitting in the car and it says there were none available. Off to a flying stop because I know there is one available…
Thanks. Yes, I completely understand the process. What I don't understand is how Lincoln keeps over promising on the sync3 system. Direct usb installation is what my dealer told me to do at the last fiasco adding "it just doesn't work and they don't advise using over-the-air updates... It's just like the pick up and drop off with loaner cars. They still run the commercials constantly but it never happens in reality. My wife loves the car. It's all good
Hi Macsterguy. The scarce loaner situation is an individual Dealer issue, not a Lincoln problem. That was often the case even before the pandemic shortages.
I have no problems getting loaner cars when I need service, including for my older MKZ which technically does not even qualify for a free loaner.
Of course, that all depends on sometimes needing to wait for an appointment for loaner availability.
Good luck.
The topic is Sync3 updates in this thread. I only brought up the loaner vehicles as another false promise/statement made by Lincoln. Just like Sync3 updates... If things don't work just admit it. Otherwise, loose customers respect.
On the topic of loaner vehicles - Once again, I understand what you are saying but unfortunately the reality is that Lincoln should >stop< running the commercials (of the lady sipping coffee while all goes smoothly for her) if it's not fully supported by sanctioned Lincoln dealers... That's great that you are able to get a loaner for service >as promised<. In our case, in Dallas / Fort Worth, willing to wait or not, loaner vehicles are no longer an option according to the two dealers where I tried (**Because we needed the loaner >as promised<)... I completely sympathize with what is going on in this world so we dealt with it.
Not a big deal but STOP the commercials if it just ain't true is my point. I saw one last night![]()
Flatsfish, did you check to see if you had the update over-the-air?Did anyone else receive a Synch 3 update notice on their LincolnWay app today?

Had the alert from Lincon Way for the update to Sync Tuesday. I have Wi-Fi coverage in my garage and the car is set for auto update. I checked last night and the version is now 3.4 with a 2019 map update as well.Did anyone else receive a Synch 3 update notice on their LincolnWay app today?
