Same kinds of gremlins we are having with our 2020 Corsair. It has a ton of great features, but the software/tech issues are really getting annoying. Going in to the dealer for the third time for the blue/screen Sync issues, and also the "system is shutting down" message that puts the car in a sleep mode because it thinks the battery is going dead (even though the battery tests just fine). Never had these kinds of issues with Honda or BMW products. I've been a Ford guy since a kid, but they need to get things sorted out.
Hi Titan and welcome to the Lincoln Forums. Just regarding "Sleep Mode" (Deep Sleep Mode): While it seems to be a common misconception, Deep Sleep Mode does
not mean the battery is going dead. The reason for Deep Sleep Mode is actually a bit of the opposite.
Deep Sleep Mode occurs when the vehicle systems detect that the battery state of charge is declining, due to various possibilities (see below), and to a point that the system will shut down ancillary, unnecessary features, in order to ensure the vehicle will be able to be started later.
Again, in most cases, Deep Sleep Mode does
not mean the battery is failing/"going dead".
The vehicle systems can/will activate Deep Sleep Mode for various reasons, such as...
- The vehicle has not been started for 14 days or more. More common nowadays with the pandemic, working from home etc.
- Freezing temperatures for an extended period of days.
- The vehicle is not being driven often and/or far enough to keep the battery fully charged. Again, more common nowadays with the pandemic, working from home etc.
Sleep Mode occurring for any of the above reasons (and a few others) is completely normal, even in a vehicle with a healthy battery.
All of this and more is also explained in our Owners Manuals.
Now that being said...If sleep mode begins to activate sooner and sooner, then it
can be a warning sign the battery is getting weaker and/or beginning to fail. If that does occur, have your battery professionally load tested (not an old fashioned battery meter test).
And while on that subject...When you state you had the battery tested, how and where was it tested? An old fashioned battery meter test will
not properly test the battery in a modern car.
You can usually find coupons for a free battery test on the Lincoln and Ford websites. Also on many individual Lincoln and Ford Dealer websites.
Let us know how you make out and good luck.
