- 2022 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring
Hello,
I'm very happy with our 2023 Lincoln Corsair GT. We are going to the mountains soon, and are planning to buy snow cables for the tires in case we encounter deep snow. The tires that came with the car are size 225/55R19.
The bad news is that the Corsair manual specifically states "Do not use chains or cables on 225/55R19 tires". I am guessing this is due to limited space in the wheel well to accommodate chains on this size of tire (the manual states that cables or chains are ok with wheels that are size 18).
Note that the Corsair manual also states that the car is equipped with tires that have "all-weather treads...to provide traction in snow", but if the police are stopping cars that don't have cables or chains, they won't care that we have all-weather treads.
I would really like to avoid buying a whole new set of tires on the off-chance that we need cables to drive safely in snow. I would appreciate any guidance that anyone can offer on this issue.
Thanks!
Tom C.
