- My Lincoln
- 2020 Navigator
I have a 2020 Navigator L and in March 2023 I had an issue with the navigation (map) not working and it progressed to other features on the screen glitching. I contacted the Concierge service and went through a master reset and when that didn't work I bought an updated map. The files would download but wouldn't upload so I took it to Lincoln for service. They told me it would be 5-6 weeks before an audio tech could look at it. I dropped it off at the end of June and they gave me a loaner car since it was under warranty. Not one update or returned phone call from my advisor for 6 weeks. I had to stop by and learned it hadn't been looked at (my advisor had 137 cars under him alone at that time). Within a few days it was ready. I noticed my paperwork didn't state they had updated the system with the new map that was supposed to fix it. I spoke with my advisor and tech and the tech stated the files were uploaded and I already had them on the system. I reiterated that they were already on there but they had to be uploaded and he confirmed it was done. I got to the first stop light out of the dealership and my screen went black.
Waited another 6 weeks for a loaner car. I went by the dealership in October 2023 to check status and the advisor didn't know, looked at his computer and saw that parts needed to be ordered and stated he would get me an estimate as now my car is no longer under warranty. I got them to extend the warranty because it was an ongoing issue (grateful for that). I found out the APIM is in backorder and asked if I could just have my car back until it came in. It has now been 2 months and the APIM is still on backorder. It is so frustrating. Depending on the mood my car is in each time I start it, I don't know if I will have a radio with all of my stations still set, if I will have navigation (hardly ever), if I will have BT, if i will have temp controls, or if the screen will even come on. It's been 9 months of an ongoing issue and I spent almost 4 months without a car. By the way, the dealership got paid a daily rate for the loaner under the warranty, so no incentive there to return my car because they're making money on it sitting on the lot.
Is anyone else having this issue with an APIM or long service turn around with it?
