Service engine soon reset

I have just removed heads on Town Car 2004 which proved to be a big job but can be done without removing engine.
The SERVICE ENGINE SOON on the dash is now on and steady
The code reader is not showing any error code but has a message RESET MANUALlY
This may be referring to the whole system or the warning light on dash.
Anybody know how this is done?

Congratulations on removing and installing the heads without removing the engine. Any chance you could update your original thread about removing heads here: https://lincolnforums.com/forums/threads/33638-Head-removal-Lincoln-Town-Car-2004-Executive it would help a lot of people in the same situation.

Usually the code reader has a reset button. The other factory approved approach is to disconnect the neg battery terminal for a while to discharge any capacitors in about 1 min or less but you may want to delay re-connecting for 5 mins.
