Hi - 2020 Lincoln Nautilus Reserve - Is there a way to hard reset the seat easy entry settings (other than disconnecting the battery and reconnecting after 20 minutes)? Occasionally I have to manually press memory 1 position to get the seat into the correct position after entering and starting the vehicle. I have set the memory 1 button several times in an attempt to remedy this but no go and have set the memory 2 button to a different position on purpose to make sure the problem isn't me lol. It is going into the dealer next week for this problem but would like to know if this is something I can do myself thanks.

Hi whatsup. My opinion: The best course of action would be to have your Lincoln Dealer check for issues and properly correct the underlying issue, instead of trying to fix it yourself.

Anything you "do myself" would most likely wind up being a temporary band-aid, which would only temporarily hide the issue. Usually, just long enough for the warranty to run out, leading to you having to pay to fix it later.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do, and let us know how you make out.

I believe that the seat position returns to the last position it was left in, if the door wasn't locked.

If locked, the seat responds to whichever fob was used to unlock the car and programmed to that particular fob.

Usually. Mine occasionally develops a mind of its own. Especially if my wife sets the seat 4" closer to the steering wheel. Fun to get squished after you start.

Have you linked your seat settings to your remote? The seats won’t move to your preferred settings upon entry until you do that.

When you approach the vehicle, the remote that is on your person identifies who you are, so that when you enter, the car knows it’s you (Driver #1) and sets the seats, mirrors, radio stations, etc. to the preferences Driver #1 has set. If you have not linked your preferences to your remote, the car doesn’t know you from Adam.

I figured out how to program the Fob to the function: https://www.fordservicecontent.com/...&userMarket=USA&div=l&vFilteringEnabled=False

The dealer could not find any issues, unable to replicate it and the problem has returned. I can press the memory seat button or my profile in the infotainment section to restore but either restorative method requires the car to be in Park which may not be convenient.

Hi whatsup. Just one point: Yes, the seat memory buttons can not be used while the vehicle is in "D" or "R" or in motion. This a safety measure in place to keep the seat from inadvertently being moved in case a seat memory button is accidentally pushed while driving. This is explained in our Owner Manuals.

As an example: My wife is barely 5'1". I am 6'1". If the seat memory buttons were enabled while in "D"/"R" etc., and I accidentally hit the #2 memory button, I would suddenly find myself unsafely pressed up against the steering wheel and pedals.

Hopefully, your Lincoln Dealer will be able to find the underlying issue (maybe the BCM?). It can be difficult when the problem is intermittent.

Keep us updated and good luck.
