2024 Nautilus Reserve 202a pkg
i have a 24 Nautilus reserve II and twice recently as I backed out of the garage it has abruptly stopped for no reason and gave me a “Reverse Brake Assist” message. It is very abrupt and my wife hates it. I am going to have it in the shop in a couple of weeks to see what they can find. I called the Lincoln Way folks and he could see that there was some sort of error message related to back-up cameras but nothing specific. Anyone experienced this and if so what caused it? It is scheduled to do an update tonite but the Lincoln Way guy said that it wasn’t related to this.

Also, does nayone know when BC 1.4 will come down?

It didn't but came to an abrupt stop

If it's happened twice backing out of the garage, there's a greater likelihood that the issue is something with what the sensors are detecting in your garage. This is, it's unlikely it's 'for no good reason'. If it were doing it everywhere, I'd suspect a sensor failure or at least some problem with the vehicle.

Please let us know what you find out.

Thanks for your input. It makes sense. I did speak with Lincoln Way as I said and they did see some sort of error code so we’ll see what the dealership has to say. i will get back to all with anything that may explain what happened.

BTW, I had a failed download last night, is that usual? It will try again tonite. If it fails again I’ll ask the dealer to make sure all updates are down while it’s in the shop.

It depends, I have our car on a strong WiFi signal every night. We don't seem to get updates often, but so far, when we do they're always successful. If you haven't set up a strong WiFi, then it's based on it's cellular connection (AT&T), which will always be less successful than WiFi. Also, some updates are larger than others and seem to fail more often. There's many others who have reported trouble with updates, but we don't know their specific situation.

The other reason mentioned is possible low battery state of charge. I would contact Lincoln Concierge if it continues to fail to install. There may be some computer glitch (bit that needs to be cleared) that is preventing it and they may be able to clear it.

I recently had an abrupt stop while backing into a parking spot. The back bumper hadn't even gotten to the curb, and the bushes I was approaching were behind the curb, so I wasn't close to those yet. I got out of the car because I thought I had hit something, but there was nothing there. I didn't notice if there was any message in the display.
