So I'm trying to replace my parking brake on my 2005 Lincoln town car and all the videos on YouTube suck. Can anybody help me and give me a step-by-step explanation on how to do this. I already have all the parts needed I basically know what I'm doing I just need something for reference.

The factory basically expects you to remove the axles. I did mine the other week, it was a tedious two person job but not complicated.
Do one side at a time, take photos, it's basically the same drum brake setup cars have had since forever just smaller with limited access.

Ok cool thank you so much for replying. There really ain't much on the internet or youtube that i can find that has been helpful.

Here the procedure for 2003 Town Car, would be the same for 2005.

The parking brake shoe friction material fell off the backing plates when I pulled my rotors the other week, hardly any wear since nobody ever uses them on an auto trans car, but I replaced them anyway. The book called for some silly adjustment spec of like, 0.030 clearance between shoe and drum, I chuckled and adjusted them like every other drum brake. Works fine.

Axle doesn't need to be removed to replace the drum shoes but it is tight. A good needle nose or vice grips are useful as well as not having rusty or sized adjusters.

Some strong L shaped pics with a screwdriver handle are handy on the springs as well.
It's a little tedious, having three or four hands helps.
