Hello can anyone tell me how to get the rear package deck out so I can replace sub woofer in my 2001 sig.series Town Car ?

Welcome Townie1,

The subwoofer is attached to the rear parcel shelf but the parcel shelf does not have to come out. Attached are the procedures for your car.

Good luck.

Hi Townie1,

Now I see what you want. Attached are the procedures for that, plus the additional speaker on the parcel shelf just in case.

Good luck

Town! ....that's it !....thank you very much..my speaker flutters and cracks I'll install a new one....

Town...I do have another question....my wife likes the oval gold cartier dash clock in the 99-2001 town car
As I only have a sig. Series and I think it would be cheaper to find one and install it in mine, would the connection be on the harness behind that small panel on the dashboard between the stereo and information center even tho it's not a cartier? Do you have a breakdown of that? Thanks again for the responses Happy New Year.

Hi Townie1,

It appears that only the Cartier model has the clock, other models use the time display in the radio. I don't know if the wiring connector for the clock is included in the wiring loom or not. Attached is the wiring diagram showing how the clock is connected with a note that the clock circuit 651 (black/yellow tracer) is shorted to ground through the clock ground circuit to turn off the time display feature on the radio. There is a tip I read somewhere to allow the time display on the radio and the clock, you may have to cut that black/yellow tracer wire (or not connect it), but I am unsure.

Also attached are the procedures to remove the front audio unit (the radio), and the front fascia that would contain the clock on the Cartier.

Sounds like an interesting project so do tell us if you have the wiring loom for the clock and how your project works out.

Good luck.

Thank you Townie :D. The headlights are Factory Hid which was part of the package when I purchased the car.The real good aftermarket one's are about $400-$500 a piece. They have the ballast inside the headlight.

The Lincoln is still in great shape. Last night at the Ford dealership some of the employees where complimenting my Town Car. I no longer use the Vogue tires as they are just looks but perform below average especially for the price. I recently and painfully went with black walls but am now used to them. It's getting too hard to find white wall tires and the LX4's from Michelin don't last that long.

Hi Townie1,

The 2003 and up have 4 headlamps (while yours has 2) and with or without HID look the same. Those are not going to fit your 2001 model because all the bodywork around the headlamps is quite different to the earlier model. If you are interested in updating your headlamps, I think Reed had a thread about his european lights. I may be able to find it?

Good luck.
