Puddle light issue

Hi everyone,
The other night i walked up to my Navigator, and for the very first time I saw the word “Lincoln” lit up on the ground just in front of the opened running board.
Odd thing is, I have never seen that before. Nor have I seen it since. Was it some sort of fluke?
I have a friend who has a black label Navigator and his puddle lights go on and say “Lincoln Navigator”in a big round circle
Is there a setting that needs to be changed to have them on or off?

Is the vehicle new to you or did you buy it new in 2021? The lincoln logo is supposed to show on all reserve trims, my 2020 only showed the logo, not the lincoln name

Hi Johnyk56. There are some variations by model year and trim levels. However one possibility would be: The side-view mirror “Welcome Mats” only illuminate when the side view mirrors are folded in. Do you have the autofold mirror setting enabled?

They also only light up if you have the approach/welcome setting enabled (I forget the exact wording) and at night.

Is your 2021 still within the 4 year/59,000 mile New Vehicle Warranty? If yes and something seems wrong, schedule a service appointment.

You’re right .. it happens when the mirrors are folded and I approach the vehicle
A feature never normally use.
Wow and i thought i knew everything about this car.
