Wondering who else has this pervasive CarPlay bug that creates a black screen condition. When my iPhone is connected to Caplay via USB & I turn car off to fill w/gas, when I start car again my screen is black & the only way to restore it is to unplug my iPhone then plug it back in after screen comes back on. Very frustrating 😔

It's a known issue. Car needs to be started before USB is plugged for Car play. No fix from Ford. They just came out with a message on this for Sync 3 vehicles. Vehicle started and screen fully booted before plugging in cord.

Thx for the info. Guess my dealer’s service Dept isn’t aware it’s a known problem. This is only an issue when I’m connected & stop to get gas otherwise I’d be unplugging phone to take it w/me. At least now, I know to unplug & replug phone in when screen doesn’t come on after getting gas 😂

This is a typical CarPlay problem. When I had my CT6 and when a friend had a ATS V we both had to always remember to unplug the phone before powering up the car or CarPlay would fail. This is one of the reasons I made sure all future cars had wireless Apple CarPlay and sat out the 2024 Aviator waiting for them to update to Sync 4 (and…they skipped right over it).

Can you advise of TSB # (or whatever) where my dealer’s service dept can find the notice about this issue? They can’t find anything showing Lincoln is aware of it.
